One Broken Mom Hosted by Ameé Quiriconi
Welcome to One Broken Mom, created by business consultant, mother, and mental health advocate, Ameé Quiriconi after personal transformation spurred her on to create a revolution in how we talk about trauma and mental health. Ameé's "punk rock meets mental health and parenting" shows are direct and honest conversations with leading therapists, researchers, and advocates in the areas of trauma, narcissistic abuse, relationships, suicide prevention, parenting, and co-dependency. The topics are serious but Ameé brings an entertaining balance of candor, boldness, empathy and even a sense of humor to each interview. Listeners learn to make changes in their personal and professional lives by gaining a greater understanding of themselves and the people around them.

Episode 40
Anxiety is a normal and healthy physiological response to a threat in the environment. However, anxiety can be become a disorder when we develop out-of-proportion anxiety responses to things most of us cope with easily.
In 2019, the Child Mind Institute published their 2018 Children’s Mental Health Report, providing a look at how widespread child and adolescent anxiety really is. On this episode, Ameé speaks again with Jax Anderson, a Wisconsin-based therapist that specializes in working with teenagers, about the signs of anxiety in children, the risks associated and what treatment options are available.
