Speaker 1:

It's Christmas time again at Walt Disney World, and Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom are all dressed up for it. The first Mickey's very merry Christmas party and Jollywood night events are already in the books, and the jingle cruise has returned, along with Santa Claus meet and greets. We're ready for the holidays with episode 167 of the Mickey Foul Podcast.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back everyone to another episode of the Mickey Foul Podcast. I'm Scott, and with me is my lovely wife Karen.

Speaker 1:

Hello everybody.

Speaker 2:

So it's the second week. We're like middle of November. Thanksgiving is like… Next week, yeah, 8 days, 9 days, 10 days, whatever it is away, yeah, 8. Yeah, crazy, I know.

Speaker 1:

It's like where the year is going away. It's flying by. I mean November's flying by already. Yeah, actually, every day is flying by, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, wow.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

And the weather sucks.

Speaker 1:

The past couple days.

Speaker 2:

yes, Like the whole state is being rained on.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

It was so cold today. So, first of all, we did 14 holes in just under three hours.

Speaker 1:

Is that good?

Speaker 2:

It was fine. It was 8, like 8, 10, and it started raining. Uh-huh, and then it started raining. It then took us three hours to do the last seven holes.

Speaker 1:

I'm not laughing because it took you three hours to do seven holes. I'm just laughing because, of course yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then a four-hour drive home and my clothes are still soaking wet, so I may have pneumonia by then, by Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1:

I'm a brighter now I'm a brighter now. Well, we're going to Disney. Everything will be all better we are. We can see our friend Friends. Get to see one friend on Friday. That's right, and then a family of friends on Saturday.

Speaker 2:

That's right so, and probably some other people Probably so.

Speaker 1:

I'm looking forward to it. I am really looking forward to it. It's like I need that right now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we had all decided that we weren't going to Disney. Last weekend we did, and then Friday afternoon we were like you know, we should go to Disney. We need to go see Hollywood Studios, yeah, and we did, we did and we went to Magic Kingdom.

Speaker 1:

That actually kind of all worked out the whole thing.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how I know, you know what's funny, what? So we went and got food at Polly, at Captain Cook's Yep. I could not tell you if they are decorated for Christmas or not. I paid zero attention. I mean zero attention.

Speaker 1:

I did not see a Christmas tree up.

Speaker 2:

I don't think so. I think I would have noticed it if it were there.

Speaker 1:

And I didn't see stuff hanging, so no.

Speaker 2:

I hope not, because.

Speaker 1:

Well, I know the store had Christmas stuff in it, but I didn't see it decorated at all. Yeah, I absolutely did not pay attention to it. I mean again, I did not notice it either. I didn't pay attention, but I would have seen it. Yeah, no, it's not set up yet.

Speaker 2:

Okay, we'll go with that, but it was fun. Yeah, we had a good time.

Speaker 1:

We did.

Speaker 2:

So we'll talk about that. And there's news, there is news. So we did we ate twice while we were there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean they weren't. I mean the Polly, the Captain Cook's was probably bigger food than what Skippers was.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, yeah, probably. But yeah, we did. I mean I guess we had tried I had gotten fried rice or something from Captain Cook's one time I think that was about it that I remember doing yeah. And then, yeah, we went over to Magic Kingdom. We'll talk about what a mess that was it was fun, but yeah, it was a mess. They were shooting, doing their filming for the TV show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we had no idea no.

Speaker 2:

And I don't know how. We didn't have any idea, but we had no idea.

Speaker 1:

Usually it's like the first weekend, so it was late this year, because they literally usually do it during the wine and dine weekend Because they're not running the race through Magic, so that's generally why they do it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right, right, so anyway. So yeah, we'll talk a little about that, but why don't we start news?

Speaker 1:

Okay, Disney Cruise Line opens the new Port Everglades terminal in Fort Lauderdale with a Disney Pixar finding Nemo theme and it opened on the 13th, which was Monday. I saw pictures of the terminal. It's really cool looking.

Speaker 2:

You know, I know the Everglades are big and it literally starts at Naples like the Everglades touch the golf course. Thanks to that, we do Right, like it's right beside Right. But Everglades City is by Naples and Port Everglades is not my Naples, so that's strange to me Right, like I feel like I saw an exit sign yesterday for Everglades City.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to make sure I'm right about that, but I'm pretty sure I did. Yeah, naples of Makali, marco and then population of 400 people, but they have an exit sign somewhere that I was. I think I was on 41. So not like on the interstate, but yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

But the terminals very.

Speaker 2:

I saw the pictures but the Everglades, literally, is the only thing between Naples and Fort. Lauderdale, Miami.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so it makes sense. Well, that's cool.

Speaker 2:

I was kind of confused. I didn't know it was Port Everglades. I've always seen that it leaves from Fort Lauderdale.

Speaker 1:

Right, I didn't realize it was called that it was Port Everglades.

Speaker 2:

So that's also interesting to learn. I'm excited. Yeah, may never take a cruise out of there, but we might.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we might Never know, Depending what the options are.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it's a long way. I mean it's.

Speaker 1:

It is.

Speaker 2:

It's like four hours instead of two hours, right.

Speaker 1:

All right Fantasy in the sky. Fireworks are returning to Magic Kingdom for New Year's Eve. It will also be on December 30th and December 31st. The scheduled times for it are 6.30pm and 11.50pm. Okay, oh, yeah, because, because then they do the countdown, the second one, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Gotcha Right, it's only a 10 minute show. Yeah, not realize it was that short.

Speaker 1:

I did not either. Now it's very cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the New Year's and 4th of July or yeah. Yeah, but the 360, yep, but I didn't realize it was only, and maybe I did. I guess I did, but yeah, only 10 minutes. Wow, mm-hmm, okay.

Speaker 1:

Sunset Season Greetings. Holiday Projection Show returns to Hollywood Studios. It's going to feature Mickey and Minnie, Toy Story, the Swedish Chef and Olaf that's one that's on the Tower of Terror.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know. Well, it's actually on like a billboard or something, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

It's not a combination of both.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean like the movie part.

Speaker 1:

Right, the movie parts on the billboard and then the projection shows on Tower of Terror.

Speaker 2:

Where'd the prepping landing guys in it before?

Speaker 1:

I think they have been yes, okay. Right.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I know they're in Jingle Bell, jingle Bam, yes, but I thought they were like on there. I guess they changed those.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they changed them a little bit so.

Speaker 2:

I will say I'm happy that they are like starting to actually push the Muppets.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I know, I am too. I've always loved the Muppets, I know, but I'm glad that they're putting them in things and like Epcot.

Speaker 2:

Well, like we're gonna talk very little about the Hollywood nights because we haven't been Right, but from what I saw, like online, miss Piggy and Kermit were like the stars of the entire event.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm looking forward to because I don't wanna spoil anything, I wanna actually do it. All right, santa Claus meet and greet returns to Hollywood Studios for the first time since 2019. The location is going to be at it's a wonderful shop on Grand Avenue, and you can sign up for a wait list via text message.

Speaker 2:

So that's the Christmas shop in the Muppet area, correct? Yeah, okay, that hasn't been open also since 2019.

Speaker 1:

Right, so, but I really think it's cool. It's gonna be back there, so yeah.

Speaker 2:

I wonder why they haven't been using that store.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I think it's really small, yeah, but I mean, I mean, you still could put Christmas stuff back there.

Speaker 2:

The Christmas store at Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs are, like always, crowded.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know, I don't know, can't answer that one. Yeah. The Journey of Water soundtrack from Epcot is now available on music streaming services. Didn't even realize it was a soundtrack.

Speaker 2:

So we've been in it three times and I do not remember any music playing. That's, yeah, Like at all.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Other than the one where you run your hand through and it goes. Did you hear me? Yeah, so Okay, well, I might go look that up. I know, I mean then last week of this class, so I don't have any more playlist. I have to listen to You're funny.

Speaker 1:

The Mary Menagerie returns to Animal Kingdom for the holiday season. I really like that. I think it's really cool how they you know, basically it's puppets.

Speaker 2:

So those are the puppet guys up front. Yes, they're like blue animals Blue and white. Yeah, but they're really cool. I had no idea it had a name. Yeah, like no idea it had a name. I know everything at Disney has a name, but I had literally never heard this until a couple of days ago, when Jen was about how excited she was to see it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Because I had no idea it had a name.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it's very cool Because you actually it actually seems. I know it's a puppet and everything, but it seems very real.

Speaker 2:

I know that I'm sorry Now, they do a good job with it. Like we have some video of them and stuff from last year. They do a good job with it.

Speaker 1:

They do a really good job, and then they have birds that fly around and stuff too. Yeah, okay, yeah. So get to see that on Friday. Yeah, wish Preview is now showing at Walt Disney Presents at Hollywood Studios.

Speaker 2:

Do you have any idea what that movie's about? No clue, I don't either.

Speaker 1:

But I would like to go see the preview.

Speaker 2:

I told you guys this weekend, every time like it pops up on Disney Plus or on the fire stick or whatever, I think it's about the cruise ship Cause it's like even kind of the same font.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I don't have any clue what it's about.

Speaker 1:

I don't either.

Speaker 2:

So, but they kind of ripped her outfit off.

Speaker 1:

We noticed that this weekend. From Rapunzel, just saying Okay, we did notice that this weekend.

Speaker 2:

That was very it wasn't just me, and even that dress or shirt or whatever it was that we were looking at. It was pajamas, pajamas, that's what they were pajamas, yes, like they had lanterns, and the background was purple Suns on them, and they were purple Right.

Speaker 1:

It's like cause. I was looking at it or talking with the Apokas. I was looking at it and going there's a wish sign, but that looks like Rapunzel.

Speaker 2:

So they had a lot of merchandise for it already. Yeah, I don't even know when the movie comes out. I don't either, so I'll wake that up. Let's see.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Does wish. November 24th to coincide with the 100th anniversary. That is merely a month before, but it has now been moved. Oh, it was expected to release on the 24th. Now it's going to be on the 22nd instead, but still time to coordinate with the 100th anniversary of Disney. That is actually a month before that.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Okay. All right, and you can get special preview screenings on the 18th. So there you go.

Speaker 1:

There you go.

Speaker 2:

Okay, what's her name? Asha or something Hi.

Speaker 1:

I don't do. The little lamb guy is cute.

Speaker 2:

Right, every Disney princess has to have an animal sidekick. Yep.

Speaker 1:

But I don't know what her name is. I guess it is Asha.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay. In the least shocking development ever, alan Tudyk will voice the character Valentino.

Speaker 1:

Oh well, he's not just a who is Valentino?

Speaker 2:

Oh, I don't have any idea.

Speaker 1:

If Valentino is the little lamb guy, that would make sense.

Speaker 2:

Probably. I mean, that would make sense, right, right.

Speaker 1:

Because that looks like-.

Speaker 2:

He's like hey, hey and stuff right yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know who Valentino is. I mean, it should be this guy. This is great like audio podcast stuff.

Speaker 2:

Because this guy looks like a Valentino. He does look like a Valentino, but I'm betting it's the lamb. It would make sense. Chris Pine is great. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy.

Speaker 1:

He's a great guy. He's a great guy. Chris Pine is-.

Speaker 2:

Chris Pine is King Magnifical Okay.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so then it would make sense that because that looks that guy, the Valentino guy looks like you know King. Magnifical no.

Speaker 2:

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Speaker 1:

Looks like.

Speaker 2:

King Magnifical Looks like that, yeah, and that could be Chris Pine. Yeah, that's Chris Pine, yeah. Plus, wouldn't he in like hairspray or something, so he can actually sing?

Speaker 1:

He was not in hairspray, but-.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he was the host of the dance show.

Speaker 1:

No, that was James Marsden or Matt James he was in Okay Thought it was Chris. Pine. No, he was in Enchanted, Is that?

Speaker 2:

yeah, oh, okay, gotcha, so anyway, I'll take a hold of that out. Okay, all right, a lot of that whole thing, yeah, but yeah, I mean, hopefully this one is very successful.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Very Merry Monorail at Magic Kingdom celebrates the Christmas party with red and green undercarriage lighting during Mickey's very Merry Christmas party. All right, so they did the same thing during the Halloween party. They did the orange.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know they're LEDs, so it's like literally push a button and change his color, right, but that actually kind of sucks. It kind of needs to be like all the time during the holiday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe after the parties it'll be red and green all the time.

Speaker 2:

Until the parties stop, like five minutes before Christmas Eve or something.

Speaker 1:

I think the last one, 20 second, 20 second, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, probably for that week or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they'll probably do it for the whole week, just cause, like they have the Christmas part, the Christmas parade goes on that week too. So Walt Disney World website is streamlining adding guests to the family and friends list with a new search function. You enter their name, email address or phone number and it actually, when you start entering names, it'll pick up names that you already have on your list. Like if you start to enter John, it'll list who you have starting with the J. It's a much easier way than trying to send an invite and get all of their information. You just send it. So if you have their phone number, you just put their phone number in. It'll find it.

Speaker 2:

I mean it can't be harder than it's been, Right Like it took me a year to get added to people's friends and family. I know. So well, that's cool. I mean finally Right Name and email address or phone number. That's far more convenient.

Speaker 1:

Yes and Guardians of the Galaxy. Cosmic Rewind wins the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement of an Attraction Apparently a big deal they are.

Speaker 2:

The Thea Awards are big deals for theme parks, right. Why didn't it win it the year it opened?

Speaker 1:

I don't know, Unless this is.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, because it's not even the newest ride at Disney World. Yeah, I mean, I know it's not the best new ride, but I feel like once the ride's been open for a while, the achievement part of it is kind of gone. You know what I mean. Yeah, I mean good for I'm winning it. Yeah, it's totally deserved. It's like the coolest theme park attraction.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

Not in Hollywood Studio or not in Batu but huh, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Phantasmic Dining Packages are changing with the return of the Disney Dining Plan in January. It is now going to be one table service meal to be redeemed for at the restaurants of 50s Primetime Cafe Hollywood and Vine, mama Mel Roses Restaurante Italiano and Syfy Dine-In Theater Restaurant. It takes two table service meals to be redeemed for at the Hollywood Brown Derby. Sure.

Speaker 2:

You can get Phantasmic for one table credit.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

That's sick.

Speaker 1:

That's a really good deal, yeah. And then, with the Dining Package includes an entree, an appetizer or dessert at full service restaurants or a full buffet and a non-alcoholic or alcoholic, if over 21,. Beverage yeah. And then you have a voucher for guaranteed seating at Phantasmic in the reserved seating area.

Speaker 2:

Which is like starting to become the entire place. I feel like no, it's the center. I know right.

Speaker 1:

So you figure, whatever drink cost and that normal meal which we were looking at doing I can't remember which one I mean that's $80 value, right there.

Speaker 2:

We booked Mama Mel Roses. We've actually done that twice Right and not gone.

Speaker 1:

I feel like we booked Hollywood and Vine.

Speaker 2:

I think we did.

Speaker 1:

And that one's like $70. And you get a drink.

Speaker 2:

And aren't we doing it at like 415 or something?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Okay. Well, I'm down with that. I'm ready for the dining plan to come back.

Speaker 1:

Aim to.

Speaker 2:

I feel like we were working it pretty good before.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, we actually, we maximized that.

Speaker 2:

It also was like $116. So it was significantly cheaper than it will be going forward. But Right. Cause that was the deluxe and I feel like the regular dining plan now is going to be like that price. Yeah, but I mean Phantasmic Dining Package is not cheap, so you're already starting off good.

Speaker 1:

Exactly.

Speaker 2:

Groovy, I like it, yep Okay.

Speaker 1:

Then there's DVC news.

Speaker 2:

Okay, dvc news the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Seller will be becoming the DVC Sales Welcome Center at Disney's California Adventure. There's a lot of property. Well, disney World, can we get a Disney Imagineering Blue Sky seller? Like, just move it over here. That's what they're doing with Disney World anyway. Hey, what if we? Yeah, true, you know, what if we give you a character, meet sometime in the future and put in the hat box ghost, like you did a couple years?

Speaker 1:

By the way, november is over, halfway over.

Speaker 2:

It has been 14 months since they told us the hat box ghost was going in to Honey Mansion.

Speaker 1:

And then they told us November.

Speaker 2:

Right, and we're halfway through November, so it's gonna be your Thanksgiving treat.

Speaker 1:

Thanksgiving's next week, I know.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. They've got to be having a problem with it, right? I mean it just doesn't. That dude that hangs from the chandelier by his umbrella, right, that's an animatronic. He is in and out of that ride all the time and the hat box ghost still isn't in there.

Speaker 1:

I don't get it. I don't either.

Speaker 2:

I don't understand. I know. We want the hat box ghost.

Speaker 1:

We want the hat box ghost.

Speaker 2:

Maybe the whole thing is a big joke, since they have spoiler alert. I guess the movie's been out for four months. There's no spoiler on that one anymore. He's been banished from the Honey Mansion, so now we get him maybe.

Speaker 1:

And now he's not supposed to be at the Honey Mansion.

Speaker 2:

Kylo Ren's dead. Let's make Kylo Ren the star of Galaxy's Edge. I get it. There's a lot of dead characters in Disney rides, right? Yes, you know back when we had Snow White the Evil Queen. She's dead folks, yep, but she was on the ride, ursula, pretty sure she's dead. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Still on the ride, mm-hmm, mm-hmm so.

Speaker 2:

There are Disney after hours tickets for next year better now on sale, have a $30 discount for DVC members, which I think is the same. Looking at these prices, I think that's the same as annual pass holders. I think so once the discount is applied, you can get those tickets for $119 to $145, depending on the night in the park and all that. Right After hours events have Mickey bars and sodas and water and yes. So you know, don't sleep on all those water bottles.

Speaker 1:

No, take a big backpack, yeah. Ha ha, ha, ha.

Speaker 2:

Disney has they're calling it clarified yeah that's right Opening timeline for the next two DVC resorts Super clarification, by the way, in 2024, the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort yeah, now we do know that, like, at least two of the existing cabins are already gone, so they aren't actually moving on that one pretty quickly, right, which they tend to do a DVC because they like to get all that money. Yes, in late 2024, the Disney Vacation Club at Polynesian Resort will open. So we were at Poly the other night, mm-hmm Road, the boat back from Magic Kingdom.

Speaker 1:

Yep Henry went by it with the monorail.

Speaker 2:

And you know it can definitely be done because the Drury, like I feel like, opened within a year Now the building was already standing, but I think Disney is that Polynesian Tower is relatively at the same place that the Drury was when they took it over. Yes, so I guess they can get it done in a year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean the structure of it. It just you know. Then it's all the interior, all the rest of it. It takes a while.

Speaker 2:

The drywall and the windows and fixtures. Mm-hmm yeah, it's not at all what I thought it was gonna be when they kept talking about a tower.

Speaker 1:

Right, and even the pictures of it doesn't look anything like the rendering.

Speaker 2:

It's not that tall I couldn't really tell exactly how many floors it is, because you can't always tell, like, how many floors the lobby is and all that but like it's spread out Mm-hmm, it's like kind of almost like two towers. Yeah, the way it looks Like, I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting like a giant Tower, straight up tower, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like Bay Lake type thing.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yeah, so looks cool. Mm-hmm, I'd like to see, I can't wait to see until the building is done and how they tie it into the Polynesian thing, right, because, in fairness, right now it looks like a Hilton, yes, but I'm sure they're gonna put that Shroof Slot under whatever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And some bad news. Direct sales drop in October as Graham Floridian sales wind down. Direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points dropped about 19% from September. The lot actually.

Speaker 1:

But doesn't it usually happen in the last quarter of the year?

Speaker 2:

I guess it does not 19% usually, but but in fairness, there's nothing new.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think people might be waiting for the.

Speaker 2:

Disneyland, but yeah.

Speaker 1:

Waiting for Poly.

Speaker 2:

I think it happens Right.

Speaker 1:

I'm stoked about those cabins. I'm really excited. I hope they're not insane point values though.

Speaker 2:

I don't care how nice you make a double wide trailer, well, single wide trailer, whatever it is, it's still a trailer. Yeah, and it's not gonna be as nice as Wilderness Lodge or the Bunkalows, right, it's also in the woods which the treehouse. That was like the coolest thing about the treehouse, walking out on the deck and you were in the woods. You know when we were moving everything in that day for the party.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Dave and I were standing out there and he's like I just know that like in the morning you get up and they're gonna be dear walking there. I'm like there has to be oh yeah. You know cause? I see him on the golf course and we're on the golf course, so that clearly are gonna be.

Speaker 1:

I mean, even just being inside and looking out the window was so relaxing cause you didn't hear anything.

Speaker 2:

Weird people singing karaoke and when you close the door you couldn't hear it 20 feet away from it.

Speaker 1:

The coolest part was the rain there was, so soundproof Was the rain hitting the metal roof, though that was actually cool sounding.

Speaker 2:

I guess it was so. Okay, that's it for DVC. Yep. Is it for news? So yeah, for all the news. Mm-hmm. So yeah, we went to Disney, we went to Hollywood studios first. So yeah. It's underrated how good the decorations are every year at Hollywood Studios.

Speaker 1:

They have the best decorations. They're so cool they are. I mean, magic Kingdom is beautiful, and with Jingle, cruise and everything, hollywood Studios is just the coolest.

Speaker 2:

You know, like a lot of it is the stuff that our parents and grandparents had when we were kids.

Speaker 1:

I know it's nostalgia.

Speaker 2:

Right, but that mid-century, you know, just after World War II, decorations they're so cool Like the little reindeer, the reindeer, the peppermint patty type girls or peppermint. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the lollipop girls are really cool. Yeah, they're all so cool.

Speaker 1:

I know, and like the lights, you know, like the big round lights that have the reindeer on them. It's just so cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got some pictures taken with Max.

Speaker 1:

I know Very cute.

Speaker 2:

Chip and Dale were out there at the time doing their thing with the Picnic basket, but they had kind of their Halloween I mean their Christmas outfit on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Manly scarves, I think right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Whatever, but they still look very cute. Yeah, so it's just very. You just walk in there and on Hollywood Boulevard they have the scallop across the, you know, with the garland. It's just so cool, the two little tidbits.

Speaker 2:

Okay, they had the gold tin. New popcorn bucket.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Don't go to the first place. You see, that has them.

Speaker 1:

Which is that main one just past sunset.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because the line there is, like crazy, all day Wicked long, but right around the corner. Well, I mean, they're all over the park, so you know, just go to another one. Do yourself a favor. We went right around the corner, over next to Brown Derby and the, you know the archway into the animation courtyard.

Speaker 1:

Right and there was like three people in front of us.

Speaker 2:

The line was nowhere near no. So, yeah, yeah, limit two per person per transaction, mm-hmm. Jalsa does not mean two per person, so everybody that got all chapped because people were walking around with 10 of them, they had to go through the line five times anyway. Right, so they are pretty cool. Now the other thing, the Donald zipper. Yes, the cool little Christmas tree, donald, and he is very cool. It's mobile order folks. Yep, you don't have to wait at any line for that. They had them at the commissary. Yep, also, limit two per person per transaction, mm-hmm. But yeah, we just ordered them and it's a drink Like it was available immediately.

Speaker 1:

It was sitting there. When I went to go get it that it was sitting on the counter with your cup on top, with the cup on top of it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah right.

Speaker 1:

So here, pick it up, and they're adorable and they light up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and they have a couple different modes, it's a cute little thing. He's really cute, cute little Christmas decoration. So we got those. Yes, we did. Yay, yay, we mostly just walked around and looked at Christmas. Yeah, we were the first time and forever didn't even enter. We never left the front. No, we didn't. We didn't go to Toy Story Land, we didn't go to Galaxy's Edge, we just stayed around the front and looked at Christmas decorations. Yeah, we did go to the tune-in lounge. Yes, we did.

Speaker 1:

Because they always have. They generally have a fun drink or festivities. Yeah, and they didn't yet, Right?

Speaker 2:

They did not have their holiday menu. They usually have a seasonal, old-fashioned for the holidays, but they didn't. They did have a peanut butter and jelly drink, yes, and it was pretty good.

Speaker 1:

It was pretty good.

Speaker 2:

The ice made it incredibly hard to drink. Yes, it was weird In the to-go cup. Now maybe if we just stayed inside on the glass maybe it was better.

Speaker 1:

Right, but in the. But it was not that easy to drink. No, we'll order it. If it's there again and we order it, I'll just say without ice.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, can I have it up Please? They probably don't want to do that because they don't want you to realize how little drink there actually is in it, true? So it was screwball whiskey. It had some kind of brandy, like I don't know blackberry or current or blueberry or I don't know some kind of brandy, and like, oh, was it Kahlua? I think it was Kahlua. So we can't find it because, shockingly, even though it was on all the signs, as they're specialty cocktails, it is not on their menu online, which is really weird, yeah, totally weird. Yeah, unless it has been taken off the menu in the last three days, which is possible, which is possible, right, but anyway, it was a very good drink. I'm going to be really upset if it's been taken off the menu now that we're talking about it.

Speaker 1:

I know because it was very good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was a really good drink. So if you go and they have it, just jump on it Because it was excellent. And after that was when we left. Yes, so we went to the Polynesian, we went to Captain Cook's.

Speaker 1:

We placed a mobile order.

Speaker 2:

We, right, I know that a few years ago, when we stayed there, we got fried rice from there. That was before COVID, right, because we haven't stayed there since COVID, correct? So so, right, right, okay, you know, didn't really know, but it's also, it's quick service, whatever. Let us get in there to park our car so we could, you know, hang out at Polly, whatever, right, all right. So you got the Pan Asian noodles and vegetables, which is $10 and 29 cents, right, that's the whole description on their menu, by the way Pan Asian noodles and vegetables. That didn't even tell you what kind of noodles, what kind of vegetables.

Speaker 1:

You added chicken to it Right, and it was $2 for the chicken. It was a decent amount of chicken. Yeah, it was a lot of chicken For the size of the bowl.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was good. Very fresh yeah, very cool yeah.

Speaker 2:

And you got the, I got the coconut meatballs. I had no idea why. Once, like I think we were, were we in the car, yeah, and you read that and I was like, oh yeah, like all of a sudden that's all I could even think about wanting, like for real, I would have probably gotten the fried rice if they'd had it, but they didn't have it, right. So Thai coconut meatballs house made all beef chili garlic meatballs cooked in a coconut cream, served over white rice. It was a really interesting mix of flavors for 1049. It was like a huge. It was in like a weird paper bowl.

Speaker 1:

It was cup thing, yeah, but you didn't realize, how big it was.

Speaker 2:

There was a lot of rice. There were four meatballs that were like I don't know, assuming people have that, assuming I have average, average size hands, like if you put your thumb and forefinger together, like that size. They weren't huge, they weren't bite size, they were bigger than bite size, right, but they were really good. The coconut cream sauce was good and it had a lot of white rice. So you know, at least it's going to, it was going to fill you up.

Speaker 1:

As for danger, Well, in mine was actually more food than I wanted to eat, but I didn't want to take carry it around.

Speaker 2:

And, to be honest with you, it was Disney for, you know, 12 bucks or whatever Disney food.

Speaker 1:

So I mean yeah, it was good, very fresh yeah.

Speaker 2:

It rained on us.

Speaker 1:

Well, it rained the whole time?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right after we sat down outside, it rained on us.

Speaker 1:

Well, we were under umbrellas, that was good.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say so. It rained hard, but there was no winds. It was like falling straight down, right so us, and the outside patio was full of people who just sat at the tables through the rain under the umbrellas. So it was. It was really nice, nice and cool with the rain going, yeah, which I thought that rain was bringing a cold front. That didn't happen, right but and this one's coming from the south and west, so I don't think this one's going to happen either, but maybe who does?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That was all really good food and for the price, like definitely going back there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Then we went to Magic Kingdom yes, and All right. So I was in my scooter, so I wanted to ride jungle cruise, jingle cruise yes, and I had a 90 minute wait. They gave us return time because the scooter can't go through the line and jungle cruise Right. So when you got our return time and we went through the Emporium, I went through the I want to say the vault, because that's what it was for a year and a half. I don't know if it's still the vault.

Speaker 1:

I don't know either. It's really, it's just various things in there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, it wasn't even. I mean, it was kind of retro, vintage stuff, right, not a hundredth. Well, I mean, I guess everything's a hundredth right Because everything is part of the hundredth Right, but it was a lot of, you know, just Mickey Mouse shirts and stuff this time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because the Emporium was too crazy for you to try to get through with your scooter.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I just wasn't yeah Into it anyway, and then we'd been there a week before. It wasn't like they had a lot new. Right. And then we went and did a couple of things. It's going to sound like we went from eating to eating, but we didn't. But we ended up going to our favorite lounge at Magic Kingdoms. Yeah, we got the Kachapas, we got the Brazilian cheese bread.

Speaker 1:

You had the. You ate the Kachapas. I didn't.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That was full. They're good. The sauces at that place are really good, Like the Dandan noodles, really good flavor. The sauces for the Kachapas and the cheese bread are both really cool. We had a couple of beverages and by the time we finished up there it was time to go to Jingle Cruise.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because that was really what we wanted to do is do Jingle Cruise.

Speaker 2:

Minty was our skipper.

Speaker 1:

She was great.

Speaker 2:

One of the first things she said was Minty is her real name. Her parents named her after a flavor.

Speaker 1:

I guess when you grow up with a name like that, you have to have a good attitude about it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I would say that's true. Yeah, she was one of those, one of the good ones. She was a really good at her job, pretty dry. But you know, those jokes are funnier when they're told kind of deadpan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was really good.

Speaker 1:

She was having fun with the people that know the stuff, that know the jokes, and playing along with it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. No it was a pleasure, yeah.

Speaker 1:

She was good and you could tell she enjoyed doing it, especially Jingle Cruise. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I love seeing how they change. You know like basically every scene out there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was good. So yeah, they were filming stage show stuff.

Speaker 1:

Right For the the.

Speaker 2:

So they didn't do unlike the third day or something of the light show on the castle they didn't do it Right. That was part of the reason we went.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Was to see the six 15 light show, didn't know they were filming and we didn't know that the show wasn't on that day, right. So that was like well, we did the Jingle Cruise and we saw Christmas decorations.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but they're filming the Christmas day thing that they do, or the Christmas special.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, one of the two.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

They, they do the projections on the castle like they've done for the last couple of years. Right, you know where, it's like gift wrapped or whatever. But they had a big scissor lift thing for the cameraman, right Like right dead center Of Main Street Of the hub.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So if you were standing anywhere where you were allowed to stand, that big scissor lift was right in the middle of the castle.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, now they did have a really cool screen on the archway, the walkthrough.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so the doors not, at least for that not going to be a door. It was like a black hole swirly thing. It was pretty cool. I'm interested to see. It reminded me of all those TV shows back in the 60 when they were like doing a flashback.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and you had the the wheel thing.

Speaker 2:

You know that spirals in on itself. Yeah, yeah that you look at it and you wanna go dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee, Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh, yeah, but it's gonna be cool. I can't wait to see it on TV. The next day they did the parades.

Speaker 1:

A modified parade?

Speaker 2:

yeah, they filmed them and they did something. So I'm thinking this might not be for Christmas Day, because I heard maybe it is, but they gave finger lights to the regular people who were standing around and had them like wave their fingers in the air. Oh really, cause usually it's all cast members they do that with yeah no, cause they were doing all this in the middle of the park being open.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so this is probably that magical thing that they always do before Christmas.

Speaker 2:

I guess. So, yeah, but it was kind of cool to watch them. Like it was weird, though, right. So we're walking up to the hub to go to Adventureland, right, and there's like a dude on the loudspeaker like where it normally would be, like it's Mickey's Famousy Fair or whatever you know. Right, giving production instructions.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was kind of weird.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna do a two shot coming in Like over the announcer. It was so bizarre.

Speaker 1:

And then all the people in the red vest are literally just standing there. I mean, there was probably what 30 of them just standing around.

Speaker 2:

Minimum.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 30 on the left side just standing around, and it's like they're just standing there.

Speaker 2:

Well, part of that was that they had the boom left or the not boom left. The scissor left was like moving around left to right, right To change the shot. So you know they, it's like going to Home Depot.

Speaker 1:

You gotta keep everybody clear of the thing moving right and all they did is they're putting the robe up just standing there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it was kind of cool to actually be there when they were doing it because, like the entire castle isn't it criticism, it's just fact Like the entire hub and castle area was completely not for the guests. Oh no, not at all it was completely for what they were filming. Yeah, so, like I said, you know it Now the decorations look cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, but you had like some. You had some music playing around there. But, like I said, then the guys are like giving instructions over the PA system in that area of the park. It was just kind of.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's almost like. It's almost like guests didn't matter, it was just them. Yeah, yeah, it really was Like and it was now.

Speaker 2:

You know, as Disney geeks, we were like stoked to see them filming it. It was just just was weird. Yeah, so it was interesting. Not what you expect, no, but it was cool to see Mm-hmm Disney's beautiful right now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it is. The tree is beautiful, as always.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, both the trees, mm-hmm. The one in Hollywood is super cool.

Speaker 1:

It really is.

Speaker 2:

I just Gertie's got the ornament in her mouth.

Speaker 1:

Yeah and just, and then the giant ornaments in the in the lagoon lake thing in the lake, just so pretty.

Speaker 2:

But I mean they were everywhere, Like you couldn't get to the Christmas tree and the toy soldiers at Magic Kingdom.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

It was like the Instagram mafia. It was.

Speaker 1:

I'm literally standing there trying to get a picture of one soldier.

Speaker 2:

Probably TikTok mafia, but you know.

Speaker 1:

One soldier and standing there trying to take picture and people jumped in front of it. I'm like what?

Speaker 2:

They all look exactly the same. I know they all have the same outfit on different colors. It's all the same outfit, yeah, so it is to laugh.

Speaker 1:

It is to laugh.

Speaker 2:

That's all I got.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we have exciting couple of weeks coming up though, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Going over this weekend back again for Thanksgiving. Mm-hmm. So it will be fun.

Speaker 1:

It will be.

Speaker 2:

Are we on our own for Thanksgiving or we have?

Speaker 1:

a call yes.

Speaker 2:

Cool, I have a plan we'll talk about later, an idea we'll talk about later. So anyway, that is gonna do it for this week. Okay, episode 167. Thanks again to everybody for listening. We love all of you.

Speaker 1:

Yes, we do.

Speaker 2:

Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1:

Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2:

Merry Thanksgiving, happy Christmas, happy New Year, that's my favorite. It's like my third favorite Christmas movie.

Speaker 1:

Merry New Year.

Speaker 2:

Behind the obvious.

Speaker 1:

But it's the obvious.

Speaker 2:

I do like love actually, so I put that like number two, maybe Not necessarily for like, ooh, it gives me Christmas feelings, but you just watch it every Christmas, so it's like a Christmas movie and it's okay. You know, like I like the movie, number one is Die Hard. I'm just saying.

Speaker 1:

See for me number one.

Speaker 2:

Trading places.

Speaker 1:

Noelle.

Speaker 2:

Definitely top five, probably third.

Speaker 1:

Noelle.

Speaker 2:

That's a cute movie. That is not number one. Okay, there's an episode for next week.

Speaker 1:

We'll rank Christmas favorites. That's what we're doing next week, yep.

Speaker 2:

Because I can see that's gonna be a it's gonna be well. One of us is gonna end up sleeping on the recliner.

Speaker 1:

No, we each have our own opinion.

Speaker 2:

My list includes Die Hard Trading Places.

Speaker 1:

And I don't have a problem with that Office Christmas party. None of these I have a problem with.

Speaker 2:

I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1:

However, the ones I have to watch over and over during the Christmas time are what I do.

Speaker 2:

Right Love, actually Santa Claus. Scrooge Elf Got it.

Speaker 1:

They're on repeat, dude, they're on repeat, that's true.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we won't do that episode next week, since I think we just did it.

Speaker 1:

but no, but it all depends on what. There's a reason behind each one.

Speaker 2:

I would defend my position on Die Hard.

Speaker 1:

And it depends what I'm doing.

Speaker 2:

And my position is right, regardless of what Bruce Willis said.

Speaker 1:

What Bruce Willis said it wasn't a Christmas movie. He did.

Speaker 2:

Oh blasphemy, there is a higher power on that one and I'll tell you about it later.
