Speaker 1:

We got to experience not one, but two Moonlight Magic events last week at Animal Kingdom and at Epcot. We will share our fun times after hours at these Disney parks. Plus, there's news about character meets, a ride update and a new old restaurant returning. All this and more on episode 183 of the Mickey File Podcast.

Speaker 2:

Hello everybody and welcome to episode 183 of the Mickey File Podcast. I'm Scott, and with me again is my lovely wife Karen. Hello everybody, first full week of March. I know your birthday is in a couple days.

Speaker 1:

It is. I wasn't sure if you're going to remember that.

Speaker 2:

Your birthday will be when this comes out. Yes, it will. Like yesterday has got my week all screwed up, I feel like it's Wednesday already and yes.

Speaker 1:

So, Well, partly because we came home on a Saturday, which we normally don't do, so I think that kind of started us off kind of getting all confused.

Speaker 2:

Yes, going over there Friday night and coming back on Saturday has actually screwed up like a whole week's worth of dates for me. Yes, yes. Starting with Saturday felt like Sunday and Right, so it's all weird.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we generally don't just stay one night, and if we do stay one night, it's on a Saturday, not on a Friday.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, plus it's Tuesday. I'm already in my third hotel this week, plus the two different hotels we stayed in last week, right, so I'm all over the place. I know Pretty good week, though. Good weekend. It was a good weekend, good week.

Speaker 1:

It was a good week. There was a lot going on.

Speaker 2:

There was a lot going on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because I mean we were there the whole weekend before and then the middle of the week and then the end of the week. Yeah, yeah, it's been weird. There was a lot of Disney in eight days.

Speaker 2:

There was a lot of Disney in eight days, for sure. Some might even say too much of some of it.

Speaker 1:

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Take that back, because it's some. Some might say oh, wait a minute. Our families, that's what it is.

Speaker 2:

We had fun we did and we have some plans coming up. So cool. Yep, Not really much else going on. Do the news babe.

Speaker 1:

Okay, ahsoka, andor and the Mandalorian inspire new stops for star tours. The adventures continue, starting on April 5th, and that's going to be it. Walt Disney World, disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Yeah, I'm kind of excited about it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, okay. So there's an article on the Disney Parks blog by Scott Trowbridge. Okay, portfolio Creative Executive Walt Disney Imaginary. So it says the new editions will feature characters and locations from some of your favorite Disney Plus new series. So go hand or in the Mandalorian.

Speaker 1:

I think it's cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it'll be really cool, Like going in the middle of all the whales.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because they actually had like a little video and I watched it. It did have all the whales.

Speaker 2:

Really, because that's like oh, I guess I guess when they were chasing it was kind of fast Right. Yeah, there were some cool places for that to go with Ahsoka. Yes, the Mandalorians have been all over the place, so I'm sure there's cool places there, right. And or I honestly kind of gave up on, I just couldn't get into it. Yeah, I was having problems with that too. The only thing I really can remember about that show from what we watched was that it was shocking that they spent so much time in a brothel.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

In Star Wars, but anyway yeah.

Speaker 1:

So maybe I need to go back and I need to go back and revisit it. Yeah, I guess so, right, so, but I'm excited about that. Yep, united Kingdom guests were having a little trouble trying to be able to book online with reservations with Walt Disney World due to privacy laws, some firewall block thing that was causing it. Disney's working on an issue, but currently they need to call directly to Disney. So yeah, that's insane.

Speaker 1:

I know they're trying to go through all these different ways. Disney was redirecting it and it was just Walls were coming up, so, which is tough, because we get a lot of guests from United Kingdom. Yeah right, I know. So I can imagine how frustrating that would be. There we go.

Speaker 2:

So weird. What Just you know? So weird? Even dining reservations. Well, maybe it's only dining reservations, oh, and they actually apparently, according to WDWNT, the person that they talked to, Uh huh, I was able to do it through chat, oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

But still I mean that's a problem not being able to book.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yep. Well, I mean, due to communication laws in place regarding the sharing of personal information via the web, for many countries at this time, certain Disney dining experiences and enchanting extras reservations are unavailable to be booked through our international website and app. So not actually Disney's fall, no, apparently.

Speaker 1:

No, but Disney was trying to find ways to work around it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, and apparently not just well, according to this, for many countries. But the UK is like the big one coming here Right, I guess because they hate France.

Speaker 1:

So they won't go to Disneyland Paris Heaven will.

Speaker 2:

No, I know that he lives across the channel. He comes here. He won't go to France.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's like a two hour trip for him to go to Disneyland Paris.

Speaker 2:

It's like two days to get to the airport for him, but it's like.

Speaker 1:

You know I don't blame him. No, I don't either. So the 2024 Easter eggs are now officially on display at the Grand Floridian Yacht and Beach Club and the Contemporary and the cottage is up at the Grand Floridian as well. Do you have seen some pictures? They look pretty cool. We're going to have to go check. Go to all three places and go check them out.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, maybe we'll do that this weekend. Yeah, that would be all right.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

They were very cool last year. Yes, they were very great Grand Floridian and Yacht and Beach. I think we went there too.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so they kind of split them all up, which is nice. So apparently there's quite a few of them at Contemporary too. So I think they yeah, it looks like.

Speaker 2:

Mm, hmm.

Speaker 1:

I think we had a friend who was there today, I think yes, so when I think there's like four at Yacht and Beach on one table, I think is what I saw, I don't know, I can't remember so, but the work they do on that is pretty amazing. So, yeah, yep, so Donald and Daisy, duck, chip and Dale and Goofy and Max meet and greet. They officially have returned to Hollywood Studios. They've kind of had those. Hey, we're over here, we'll stop by and take pictures, but now they're officially on the schedule for meet and greets. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I got a picture with Max Right, I don't know, christmas season.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but he was just kind of around. Yeah, he's just over by the lake Right, so now they actually have their spots. So Chip and Dale around the lake, donald and Daisy around the lake, I think by Gertie, over by her, and then Max and Goofy are in over by Boy Story area. Okay, there's an actual meet and greet there. So it's on the schedule. They're like every half hour they put them out, yeah it's very cool.

Speaker 2:

Yep Character meets are always good. Yes, they are.

Speaker 1:

And Doug and Russell are returning from meet and greets at Disney's Animal. Kingdom as well, they're cute, they are, I get a kick out of them, yeah. So, and this morning, bright and early, reservations opened this morning, march 5th, for 1900 Park Fair, which officially reopens April 10th, and about 5.45 this morning, reservations opened 5.42 is what we got in our group chat.

Speaker 1:

So, and they do breakfast and dinner and it's a buffet. Now, as of pretty much right now, there is nothing available up through May 4th. I went on to go look, yeah, that's 60 days.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's as far as fine. I'm not in a rush to go Great.

Speaker 1:

So I mean the menu looks pretty good. I'm interested in what the cost are, though I can't find the cost of it.

Speaker 2:

I don't know the character breakfast. What's it gonna be? 50 bucks.

Speaker 1:

Probably 50. Between 50 and 60, I would think the dinner, I think, looks delicious. It's got quite a variety.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it does. I mean, yeah, it's a buffet. Yeah, so it looks like all the other buffets, if I'm being honest.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we'll wait and see and hear how it is yeah.

Speaker 2:

I guess that means no, oh no, there it is Strawberry soup Cool.

Speaker 1:

Yep, they said the strawberry soup was going to be there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for dinner and for breakfast.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

So cold ale.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

There's some DVC news. The new Disney Vacation Club Welcome Center is open at Disney Springs. Disney Vacation Club's new gateway to discovery preview center is now open. There's additional space for DVC owners, set to debut this spring.

Speaker 1:

Where is it? It looks like it's over where Alex and Annie was.

Speaker 2:

As you say, it's some old storefront, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the same storefront that his name is a little church in that is part of the вс boiler.

Speaker 2:

Yeah that you put it in the MBA experience.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they got plenty of room there.

Speaker 2:

Actually, apparently they. They filed a permit, I think, last week, for general construction, a slash demolition for that place. They're not tearing the building down, it's got to be just going back and making it a usable right. Going back and making it something usable. Oh, and then the other big news. Yeah, if you live within 48 minutes of Orlando, 45 minutes of Orlando previously removed, fort Welterdess cabins are now being offered to sell on Facebook for the low, low price of just $49,900 per unit. They are described as fully furnished, with a promise to deliver within 45 minutes of Orlando for no additional cost.

Speaker 1:

I mean the delivery part's a good deal yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean it is actually because moving a big old trailer isn't easy. But yeah, 50 grand for used.

Speaker 1:

For gently used.

Speaker 2:

That's it for the DVC news. That's it for the news.

Speaker 1:

That's it for all the news. I know there's a lot going on at Tokyo, just not a ton here.

Speaker 2:

There's always a lot of stuff. I mean, they said they're going to spend 60 million bucks on the parks and it's mostly going to be overseas, right? So Hong Kong, tokyo and Shanghai are going to be rolling in it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, very jealous of the Tokyo, seek it and all that stuff. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So we did Moonlight Magic Two of them. We did Last Tuesday, which was the 27th 27th. That's correct, yeah 27th it was at Animal Kingdom. Correct Nighttime at Animal Kingdom. Mm-hmm Safari wasn't open. No, that was disappointing. What time did it start?

Speaker 1:

7 o'clock. It officially started at 7 o'clock, but you could get in as early as 4. Right, which is standard. No, usually it starts at 7. You get in at 6. Usually they give you like an hour.

Speaker 2:

I guess I didn't pay attention to that because we've got passes and we just go early, right.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, so the event was officially from 7 to 10, but they let you in, they let you park for free at 4 o'clock. You had to show the email, but park it free if you didn't have passes, and then you could get in the gate at 4 o'clock with your party.

Speaker 2:

We went in there just after 5. We're just after 5? Right around 5. The toll booths there weren't even anybody there, right, I think at 4.30.

Speaker 1:

they just kind of left at that point because yeah, I think probably, and that's pretty common.

Speaker 2:

I mean usually, if you go in there right before closing, there's nobody there to Right To make you pay anyway, right.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, so we got there. It was a little after 5. It might have been like- it was right around 5. Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2:

I don't have any point of reference, but it was right around 5. We left the hotel before 5,. I know, right, where do we stay? Residence in, right? Yes, yeah, so we were pretty close.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, which was convenient?

Speaker 2:

yes, First thing when we got there, they gave us wristbands. They're not using those clip-on wristbands anymore, right, at least for DVC.

Speaker 1:

They did it for the parties.

Speaker 2:

They used it that way too, was it the same one as the parties?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they've switched all of them to that.

Speaker 2:

So that was cool. It was actually more comfortable, yeah, and a little easier to get off when we got back to the room Right Right, which was good, because we did not have a sharp knife in the room Right, so we needed to be able to pull it off, which we were able to do Right A little more stretchy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so when they do it they give you your little map thing which gives you all of the characters and stuff like that. And they gave us two snack coupons each and then two game coupons.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so that was pretty cool. The snack coupons were good basically for any snack on the Disney dining plant, so we got Mr Kamal's fries, we had street corn Right when we were leaving we got churros and pretzels because we still had some coupons left.

Speaker 1:

Right, and they had little, just even small, temporary carts to be able to exchange the coupons for the pretzels and churros.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like the rolling carts, it wasn't like one of the permanent carts, right, and they had a bunch of people handed them out, a bunch Right.

Speaker 1:

And then they were giving you the. They were giving you the plastic cheese for the pretzels, and then they were giving you the dark chocolate for the churros.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like we said, safari wasn't open Right, shows weren't open, right. So the first thing we did when we got in is we went to Nomad Lounge and it was closing at 6 so they weren't seating anybody. But they let us go in and get to go drinks, right, and we got to walk right in, probably because it was a little before it was at that point, maybe 5.30. Right, and they let us go in. We actually had to wait. It took kind of a while for five people to get drinks and it was really only three orders, because it was two couples plus Holly Right.

Speaker 1:

But the one bartender. He was actually serving everybody else too, because it was the one bartender.

Speaker 2:

Right, you know as, but it took as long to do Tamara cause she ate everything he would do, like our order, and then somebody at the bar, and then the next order and then somebody at the bar. So it took a little bit, but we got our drinks. When we came out there was a line building up for it. I wouldn't have waited in line to go there. There were other places all over the park to go get drinks. We left there, I guess we went to Everest?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because then we figured we could have our you know, finish our drinks by the time we got to Everest.

Speaker 2:

Right, so we walked over and walked right on to Everest. Yeah, now, that was in the gaps between. At that point, the park is closed, but moonlight magic hasn't started Right, so they really have to show our wristband to get on Right, but they weren't actively pushing people out.

Speaker 2:

No, but they weren't letting people without wristbands get on a ride, right, so it must have been like 602 at that point. Yeah, and it probably was, because it took us easily 15 minutes to get our drinks at Nomad and then we drank them and outside and decided what we were going to do. What else did we ride?

Speaker 1:

We rode Navi.

Speaker 2:

We did Navi that one. We probably waited in line in Navi for 20 minutes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, probably the line did keep moving. It was just yeah, we didn't ride Avatar, we didn't.

Speaker 2:

No, and that was still very ridiculous.

Speaker 1:

It was fine.

Speaker 2:

Right For Avatar. So we skipped that. We ended up riding Everest three times that night, twice at the end, like we got off and we had like four minutes so we could go right back in line and get on before everything closed.

Speaker 1:

Exactly so like, yeah, we're doing another one. We rode Dinosaur, we did ride Dinosaur. Yes.

Speaker 2:

And that was the same thing. We walked right through the line, no waiting. They actually had the pre-show going.

Speaker 1:

which people were surprised that they just didn't have the door open to go through. Especially on those events they don't. They turn off the pre-show Well it was cool. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then we rode the ride and everybody was not our Dino.

Speaker 1:

Now I will say the other people that were on our car, like on Everest or on Dinosaur, because we're trying to do things for the picture, you know, because we want to have fun with the picture. Right, they played right along.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and so the guys. The last time we did Everest played along with it.

Speaker 1:

It was really fun.

Speaker 2:

It was. It's a different group of people, it's the serious Disney fans. Yeah, so, and I think that's why some of the rides are not as crowded, not only because there just weren't people there, right, but everybody's trying to get the photo ops. Yeah, you know, we got a picture with Scrooge McDuck, right?

Speaker 1:

With a member, Jane and Tarzan, which was at Safari.

Speaker 2:

That was that's right. That was Jane and Tarzan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're there.

Speaker 2:

There was nobody in line. No, there were only like four people in front of us. When we got up there to the line.

Speaker 1:

That was a really cool photo op and introduction. Yeah, that was very surprising yeah.

Speaker 2:

At any of them for any of the photo op. But you know what, when we went to dinosaur, we got Scrooge McDuck. There was no line. Right, there was basically no line. When we went to the duckling yeah, the ugly duckling, is that what it was?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and the only reason, the only reason we had to wait is because it was a change, right, we're waiting for him to come back.

Speaker 2:

I think, scrooge, we had to wait on to come back. I don't remember if that's true for the other one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know one of them. We had to wait, but it was fine yeah.

Speaker 2:

And they had. Let's see, we went to Dabba Bar a couple of times during the night. Yep, that bar over by Everest that can never remember the name of I can't either that was open. So they had plenty of food and drink available. Yes, and it was a lot of fun. You know, we went around the park with our friends and had a good old time.

Speaker 1:

We really did so.

Speaker 2:

And didn't wait in lines, and you didn't have to wait in lines to do most of the stuff other than Avatar. Yeah, you know, and again. Plenty of photo ops out there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and that Avatar. At the Avatar night they obviously redid the bio, the bioluminescent stuff, because it was bright.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, we had seen on somewhere that they had just just repainted them. Yeah, and they certainly had. It was. Yeah, it was much brighter than it has been in the past.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, there were ice cream areas which I know that they did stop to get get some, but then they also went to the pay ice cream.

Speaker 2:

Right, yeah, and they were doing and the same thing at Epcot. Then a couple of nights later, they were doing Mickey bars and.

Speaker 1:

Fruit bars and Mickey sandwiches Right. All of those were included without having to give up a ticket Right, but they ended up getting the swirl one which was that I don't remember which where it was at, but they showed a picture. They sent a picture to me of it all, the who was in the waffle cone and the whole deal. So yeah right.

Speaker 2:

It's been fun? Yes, it was, and you had you got to. You got two coupons for free games Right, which I have never played a game at Animal Kingdom.

Speaker 1:

I have the first year Right, the very first year we went to it.

Speaker 2:

I did and it was fun, but I'm not waiting to line the lines for those games were so long it was the longest lines, literally the longest line I saw in the park. Yeah, maybe not as long as Avatar, but they were so long. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Because I mean, you know where the games are. It's in that dino area and the games went all the way past the buildings and everything.

Speaker 2:

It was crazy. We're in line outside of Dinoland, outside of Dinoland. It was ridiculous.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're like. Yeah, now we're not doing that we probably should have done is handing them to other people. Go here, Let your kid go twice.

Speaker 2:

You know, I didn't even think about that. I didn't even think about it. Whatever, now we have souvenirs. Yeah, so Animal Kingdom was really cool at night. It's really pretty at night. The tree of life is beautiful at night.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes, and you don't, because they close so early, you don't really get to see it anymore, right, let me just talk to you up here, hi. Hey, wait, I'm sorry about that. It's good to know. Did you hear the Creep?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so it was we found the kangaroo habitat.

Speaker 1:

Yes, we didn't see any of the kangaroos, but we found the habitat.

Speaker 2:

You know. So Bush Gardens has that whole area you walk through with the kangaroos, uh-huh, and wallabies, both Right, they apparently like spend most of their day curled up laying down. Yeah, and the way that habitat is done, like at Bush Gardens, you're walking right through the middle of it.

Speaker 1:

Right, so you can see them.

Speaker 2:

And this when you're looking from one point you barely get to see them Across the lake into a grass field and trees and bushes, and if they're laying down in the back, which is what they apparently do most of the day, yeah, you're not going to see them, right? So kangaroos are not the turnal first of all, right, you've either got to screw with their schedule or you're not going to see them very often there, right? So I guess if we'd have gone back in the dark, maybe, if they were out there.

Speaker 2:

Right, we didn't get to see them, but we did see the habitat. Yes, that was Tuesday, mm-hmm Friday. We went back for a very, very rare Friday night, moonlight magic.

Speaker 1:

I've never heard of it being on a Friday.

Speaker 2:

That was pretty insane, yeah, and I'm not. I don't know why they did it. And I don't know why they did it because all right. So the moonlight magic started at 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, 10 o'clock right.

Speaker 1:

Perk closed at 9, but then there were fireworks Right. It was 10 pm to 1 am Right, which is generally that time. That's right.

Speaker 2:

So we got in early.

Speaker 1:

Right, but with this again, kind of like with Animal Kingdom, you could get in at 5.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, 5 or 6. It was 5. Where did we get our wristbands? Was it when we came in?

Speaker 1:

Oh no, there was a. If you were already inside, there was a spot in between creations and connections cafe. Oh yeah, under the walkway there. Under the walkway. They had it set up for people, for the people already in the park.

Speaker 2:

So, and they had it set up really good, like both places, like go to this one, scan in, go to the next person, get your wristband. Go to the next person, get your tickets, go to the next person, get your map Right. So they kept it moving really well, way better than they used to at the parties.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, where you know they would scan you in and hand you the wristband and here's your map and show schedule. So this one, they kept the line moving, which was really nice. Yes, so there were a lot of people that went through the line while we were there, but it was not a long line. No, so for Epcot, we only got three food coupons each, correct, because there's no games, right, so we got three food coupons each. Mm-hmm, they did close between France and China, China yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I found out I mean, I figured out later on, because this was really cool. So at nine o'clock they did the luminous, not the luminous luminous, luminous.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm. It's ridiculous that they picked a name that close to the illuminations. Yeah, I know, but so at nine o'clock they did luminous. At 11 o'clock, mm-hmm, they did a special DVC fireworks show. Which was that involved the fountains? Uh-huh, first of all, and it was awesome, man, they lit up the sky. Yeah, for those fireworks. They were good. I bet people staying in the Yacht and Beach Club were happy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because it was 11 o'clock, yeah, and they were loud.

Speaker 2:

They were loud because there were a ton of fireworks. Yes, there may have been as many, it wasn't as long, but they may have set off as many fireworks in that as they did For luminous. Yeah, but when it was done, they took the boats in. So I think that's why we couldn't go past China Right. So at China they did have blue shoe, mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

It was there.

Speaker 2:

Yes For care. Being great Mm-hmm, we did Frozen twice, frozen ever after. Twice Mm-hmm, once early and once later. On Right, they had an Olaf meet Basically in the exit. After you would see Anna and Elsa Right when you exit, they had Olaf in there and the holy cow, was he awesome.

Speaker 1:

He was awesome. The characters were very huggy. They were very huggy, but they were huggy, but they were so much personality with them too. I know, I mean, usually they do have personality, but they were oh yeah, yeah, they were overly enthusiastic.

Speaker 2:

We didn't go down to China and see Mushu because we were headed a different direction, right, but we got our pictures with Olaf Mm-hmm. We went down into Canada. In Canada they had.

Speaker 1:

In Mexico with Dante, with Miguel.

Speaker 2:

Miguel, yes, in Mexico, down in front of Lecaba, uh-huh, like right in the middle of the shop in front of the fountain, I guess? Yes, behind Miguel, uh-huh. That was the first picture we got. We did that right when the photos started at whatever, they started at 10.30.

Speaker 1:

10.30. Yeah, that's when the photos were. From 10.30 to 12.30 is where the photo ops were.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, it was Donald and his lumberjack lumberclack costume.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, underneath, kind of like when you exit the Canada show.

Speaker 2:

Right, yep, where you exit O' Canada and that's where they typically have character meets during the party. We like magic, yeah, and I guess the parties too. Yeah, they were just really, they were my parties there they have after hours. After hours, but not parties. Yeah, goofy was in the back.

Speaker 1:

Goofy was in. Oh, he was in the back of the Ute. And he was wearing a. It was Sherlock Holmes, sherlock Holmes outfit. He was pretty funny.

Speaker 2:

It was very cool and he was very animated. Yes, dave was playing with him, hiding behind him, and he was playing right along. Yeah, dave, and.

Speaker 1:

Veronica Got to go with us, which was wonderful.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, from the Disney Crush podcast. Yes, they got to go with us.

Speaker 1:

Yep, this is their second one at Epcot that they've gotten to go to. Yeah, see, we had Olaf. We hadn't. Oh, olaf, miguel, goofy, donald, who am I missing? We didn't go to France because Esmeralda was back there and we're like I don't want to go, esmeralda and somebody. Yeah, and it was just going to be. I had a feeling that one was going to be really busy. France was just a really long walk.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so we had done Remy earlier, right, but then we were back up at the front and it was just going to be a really long walk to get all the way back there.

Speaker 1:

And I know it was going to be inside the Beauty and the Beast show inside that lobby. I'm pretty sure it was going to be in there and I'm like that's all the way back there.

Speaker 2:

That's where Gaston was last year when we went, or two years ago, whatever it was.

Speaker 1:

Right Two years ago. Yeah, so who else? Let me look at my little thing and see who else. Oh, so up at the front at Guardians, they had Star Lord and Gamora.

Speaker 2:

But the line was pretty long, yeah, and that one was insanely long Right and Star Lord looked like the guy that used to be in the show at the American Pavilion and he didn't look like Star Lord.

Speaker 1:

No, Gamora, she looked pretty good.

Speaker 2:

Gamora did for sure. Yeah, Star Lord didn't look anything like Star Lord.

Speaker 1:

Right. So there was Asha. It had a little bit of a line, but we're like, yeah, Asha's there all the time.

Speaker 2:

That's the Asha was where Asha always is.

Speaker 1:

Right Then the other one that we didn't go to was Minnie Minnie Mouse. She was in the world nature, so she would have been over by the land.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, and we never went over by the land at all.

Speaker 1:

No, we didn't go to Soren, we didn't go to Living with the Land, and Living with the Land apparently has this whole little setup now for Flower and Garden that we have to go to.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, yeah, we did go to Dreamer's Point, yes, kind of the last thing we did. Right, mickey was taking photographs with Walt's statue, yes, which was really cool and really cool, yeah, and it's really cool because not a whole lot of people are going to get that picture.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So again, the food coupons were good anywhere for snacks, anywhere that took to Disney Dining Plant, correct.

Speaker 1:

So certain countries did not allow them France, Mexico, what was the ones? They said France, mexico. There were four countries that did not with any of the booze, that did not take any of the coupons, no matter what, oh, italy and one other At Creation Shop.

Speaker 2:

The only thing you could use them on, the only thing that are on the Disney Dining Plan, according to the science, were French fries, cuties, waffle, delige, waffle, a cake, Like it was all right. Not what we were looking for. That's what we were looking for Connection. Cedarie yes, yeah, so that was a little disappointing. But you could use them in the booths. Yes, so we did. We did that, man. I'll tell you what that they have a gumbo at the American Pavilion. Yes, and it's a chicken gumbo.

Speaker 2:

With sausage and it was delicious. Yes, they also had the.

Speaker 1:

We went for seconds on that one. Yeah, they had the Panini Muffalata, yeah, and that was also pretty good. That was really good. It wasn't anything special.

Speaker 2:

It was just a sandwich, but it was pretty good. Yeah, but the the gumbo I'm going to go back for because, oh yeah, that was delicious that was delicious, yeah, and pretty affordable was only yeah, six twenty five.

Speaker 1:

Six twenty five, same with the Panini was six twenty five, and then I got I went to the trial and trellis because I was starving and I got the sticky ribs and the chocolate, the ribs and the chocolate terrarium. Yeah, the ribs were good, they just weren't, they were not warm. Yeah, they were good, they actually had a good flavor to them, they just were not warm.

Speaker 2:

Try real hard, not to say cold.

Speaker 1:

They weren't cold, but they were. They were air temperature and it already chilled down. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, and then right after I did it, a whole bunch of people came in, so they probably were then. I think these had been sitting there a little while, so they cooled down is what it was. So the chocolate terrarium was interesting. I'd probably eat it again, but I'd probably want to share it with people.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was bigger than I expected it to be. Yes, which is weird, because I had actually seen a picture of a friend of ours holding it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And it still was bigger than I thought it was gonna be.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like I had something to put it in perspective and I didn't have it in perspective yet.

Speaker 1:

Right, but it was nice to be able to use coupons for that, for those foods.

Speaker 2:

so yeah to try a couple of things that we may not try Right Otherwise. Yeah, in the lines Like the gumbo, I probably wouldn't have gotten, but now I just want to go back and get it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I'll get another. I'll get another panini too, because it was really good. And then we did try the shandy and the orange twist at the citrus blossom and we got the zipper, the orange bird zipper. Yeah, the shandy was good. The orange one orange twist, that was delicious, it was really good. It was like natural orange flavor in it. Couple of good things there.

Speaker 2:

Uh-huh, I never saw the line outside of Guardians. I never saw it outside of Guardians, right, and it was standby only yes, so it wasn't super crowded in there, right, like I said, we did Frozen twice, walked right onto it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the second time I think we waited a little longer, but we still just could. We kept walking. We didn't wait it, just kept walking, Right.

Speaker 2:

So it's if you are DBC, go do it because it's cool. Yeah, they have a problem If they have one of those paid after hours events, I would do that too.

Speaker 1:

I'll do it, yeah, Just be able to walk on everything. I mean that's fantastic.

Speaker 2:

For the characters and and the lack of crowd. It is completely worth it. Yes.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna try really hard to get Hollywood Studios.

Speaker 2:

Yeah right, it's the luck of the draw on those on Light Magic, right we got lucky, I think, and got both of these, but yeah, but let's see how long that luck keeps going.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the next two are Typhoon Lagoon and then Hollywood Studios, so that's right.

Speaker 2:

Yep, you got anything else Uh.

Speaker 1:

I don't think so no neither. So and just to remind people on the DBC movement Magic, you actually have to be eligible for membership extras. So just that's caveat I just forgot. I put in there real quick.

Speaker 2:

But I will say nothing to complain about either one of those events. No, they've made those really nice events.

Speaker 1:

They've gotten it down.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know, if you remember back a couple years ago they had the first one and people were coming in and they had the first one and people were complaining about how bad it was run and they fixed it pretty much immediately. Yeah and yeah it was. They've got it down now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it's just nice. It's a nice event, you know, it just really is a. It's a very different experience. When you go, it is like being in an after hours event. You know an actual eight after hours event.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it is. I mean it's the same thing.

Speaker 1:

Maybe less people than the actual after hours, but but yeah it was very good, and they were trying to throw ice cream in fruit bars at us.

Speaker 2:

Oh man, they were begging us to take them. Yeah, like they really were, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Begging. Ha ha ha.
