This week, following our monthly theme of EDITORIAL, we interview Ryan West from Go West Productions on his climb to fame with local publications like Oklahoma Living and Curbside Chronicles.
Coming from a creative family, Ryan got infected by photography from his father during nature hikes. He assured us that since the whole family is involved in the craft, Ryan has no extra money for bad habits.
Leaning on the advice of James Pratt, Ryan spends a considerable amount of time practicing visual storytelling in preparation for assignments from editors. Forcing yourself to shoot the story, will help any budding photographer develop the basic skills to get chosen for a magazine editorial. Ryan also shared his passion for conservation-focused captures and the dream to travel the world using his images to bring light nature and wildlife issues.
