Show Notes Transcript

The regular Mind of Snaps podcast is on a hiatus still, but I'm working on bringing it back. There ARE still more podcasts available on my Mind of Snaps Youtube channel, but they just haven't found their way here yet.

I've talked before about slowly releasing all of the positivity podcasts from my Patreon to the public, and now seems like a great time to do it.

So keep in mind these podcasts will be older, the first one I'll be sharing is this one and it's from 2018. The format kind of evolved over time, but I hope you enjoy listening, even though times have changed.

Listen, and let me know your thoughts.

Hang in there friends, we're all in this together.

Hi, everyone. Good morning. I mentioned that I wanted to find a way to share some positivity with you All in the mornings when I'm not streaming, I finally think I figured it out. So now for all patri on subscribers, you get access to a positivity podcast every Monday. If you know someone else who you think could benefit from a quick dose of positivity at the start of their week, let him know that for only 10 bucks a month they get access to these via Patri on. And obviously it helps support the stream podcast, Blawg and other ventures moving forward. I know I've mentioned wanting to get my nonprofit launched again, and I really want to continue to focus on putting out quality mental health. Resource is so the plan is to keep these brief probably 5 to 10 minutes or under. I just want to potentially review some affirmations, talk about some goals for the week and then leave it there. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please feel free to hit me up. I really want these to be as helpful as possible for today. I just wanted to start out by reading to you. My first affirmation in my affirmations book. This one is partially from hell rods book The Miracle Morning with a few little additions or changes of my own in my morning routine. This particular affirmation is the 1st 1 I read. Always. I feel it's a great way to start my day, so hopefully it helps you to. Here it is him. I am in control of my destiny. I deserve to be a success. I am committed to doing everything I must do today to reach my goals and create the life of my dreams. I am worthy, deserving and capable of achieving everything I want in every area of my life. From this moment on, I am 100% committed to my personal development. I commit now to schedule and follow through today with the necessary actions that will ensure that I create the extraordinary life that I deserve to live. So now that you've heard one of my favorite affirmations, it's time for you to create some of your own. If you're following along with my journey to better mental health and happiness, maybe you've already read my five steps to better mental health on my website mind of snaps dot com. If you have, hopefully you've already started including affirmations in your day. If you haven't, now is the time to start. I know I feel better when I work hard to focus my mental power and energy towards positive thoughts and actions. So I bet it would work for you, too. This particular affirmation really resonates with me and helps me stay on track. Something about telling myself daily that I am in control, but I deserve to be a success and then taking one step further and saying I commit now to schedule and follow through today with the necessary actions that will ensure that I create the extraordinary life that I deserve to live. It's easy for us to look at ourselves and judge ourselves based on our current lives and past actions, and then say I don't deserve good things in my life. But the fact of the matter is, you do. You are human. You make mistakes just like the rest of us. This shouldn't be an excuse for you to just give up on life. You are a beautiful human being full of this incredibly powerful energy but that energy can work against you if you allow it to be focused in the wrong areas. I say this all the time. Your mind is basically a calculator. The output depends heavily on the input. Your brain isn't trying to convince you to be happier. You've got to tell your brain that that's what you want and deserve. If you constantly ask your brain to help you solve the wrong problems, it's gonna give you the right answers to the wrong problems. For example, asking your brain why am I always failing? Why can't I do anything right? Why can't I get ahead? Or why doesn't anyone like me? Your brain isn't going to say now. Hey, wait a second. You're actually awesome. So don't ask these questions. Instead, it's gonna act like the calculator. It doesn't start answering those awful questions. Why am I always failing? Well, because you're bad at stuff. Why doesn't anyone like me? Well, it's because you're lame, boring or ugly. Those aren't necessarily the right answers, but it's what your brain is pulling together based on all the information it has in front of it. If you constantly think negative thoughts, it is easy for your brain to treat those thoughts as truth and respond as such. Now try asking your brain calculator the right questions. How can I make today great? What can I do to get out of this bad situation? What can I do to connect better with my friends and peers? Life is just a serious of problems waiting to be solved, but you've got to identify the actual problem and then start thinking of how to get past it. Believe in yourself and your capabilities and trust in your ability to get things done. It's Monday, May 14th 2018 and as my mom always likes to say, Happy Mother's Day. By the way, this is the first day of the rest of your life. So go out there and make some good stuff happen. You are in control of your destiny and you deserve success and happiness. Go find or create it. I hope you have a fantastic start to your day. And remember, you are capable of incredible things. Make this day count. That's all for now. See you next Monday. Bye.
