Recipes - Fried Honeycakes
http://recipesforapagansoul.weebly.com/beltane-may-1.html
1/2 cup sweet white wine
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1 cup honey
2/3 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
Oil for frying
1/8 teaspoon salt

Beat the wine & egg in a medium bowl. Combine the flour, cinnamon, salt & sugar in a small bowl. Stir into the egg mixture. Let stand 30 minutes. Combine the honey & nutmeg in a small bowl.

Heat 1/2-inch of the oil in a frying pan until hot, but not smoking. Drop the batter into the oil 1 tablespoon at a time; fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Dip into the honey.

Amanda H's Applesauce
5 lbs of gala apples cored not peeled
5-10 dates
2 cans of crushed pineapple in pineapple juice
2 tbs cinnamon
1 tbs vanilla extract.
Cook overnight on low in a slow cooker and then blend with an immersion blender. I prefer it warm over a scoop of ice cream

Clarissa F's Beltane Ritual Oil
Mistletoe
Orris Root
Catnip
Frankincense oil
Jasmine oil/flowers
Ylang Ylang oil
Honeysuckle oil

Charlotte A's Family Scones
8oz (about 2cups) self raising flour
1.5oz (3tbsp) butter or margarine, soft
1.5 tbsp castor sugar (this is really hard to find in the US. C&H brand calls it 'Baker's Sugar'--it's the ultrafine stuff)
150ml (5 fl oz) milk
a pinch of salt
a little extra flour

1. sift the flour into a bowl and add the butter. Mix by rubbing your hands through the mixture until the butter and flour make small clumps.
2. add the sugar and salt and then add the milk a little at a time, mixing with a knife. Knead into a soft dough with floured hands. Don't fuss with the dough for too long! (
3. turn out onto floured surface and roll to a 3/4 inch thickness. Cut out the scones and place on a greased baking sheet. Dust each with a little extra flour and bake near the top of the oven at 425F for 12-15min.
