Can you name 5 dark skinned actresses under 30? The trio discuss Colorism in casting and how one can use their privilege to strive for my equitable casting. Colorism, coined by Alice Walker in 1982, is prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone and falsely attributing negative attributes to this phenotype while displaying a preference for individuals with a lighter skin tone and privileging them with positive attributes. Colorism typically occurs among people of the same ethnic or racial group.
