Show Notes

Beat maker, DJ, visual artist (and skateboard artist) Northern Draw hangs loose this week. A man of many parts, Northern Draw curates the monthly beat showcase Thirsty City at the White Owl Social Club and hosts KBOO's "The Movement" show each Sunday in addition to churning out dope grooves and honing his artistic craft. His latest single "Blanc!" drops on vinyl June 26, and you can see him spin that night at Thirsty City. Peppered into our typical nonsense this week are some gems about the important link between skate and hip-hop cultures, what it means to be more artist than musician, and Drew's troubling willingness to eschew a proper bathroom.

Featured music this week:
"Blanc" by Northern Draw (24:43)
"It's Hard to Write a Gospel Song When You Can't Find the Lord" by Jota Ese (44:55)
"No Gameboy" by Northern Draw and Omari Jazz (55:10)
"Unqualified" by Ikebe Shakedown (79:03)
"Steel Winged Warrior" by Dream Troll (96:31)
