As the spotlight shines on the Emmy Awards, we embark on an impassioned ode to television's finest hour, where "Succession" reigns with an awe-inspiring 27 nominations. I, your host, am thrilled to unwrap the glitz and heart behind these iconic ceremonies, reflecting on the industry's triumphant rebound from strikes and the pandemic's tight grip. We'll chuckle together at names like Josh Rottenberg and Lipschitz, and perhaps shed a tear for the emotional tributes that graced the stage. Join me for a celebration of small-screen magic, the Critics' Choice Awards, and the unforgettable moments when classic TV casts reunited, reminding us all of the timelessness of great storytelling.

Then, we shift gears to something more personal—the extraordinary life of my Bubbie Gittel Bernstein, whose 124th birthday celebration transcends time. It's a moment to honor the women who've carved their marks on my being and to revel in the whimsy and warmth of our TikTok family. I'll weave in tales of aspirations, gratitude, and a sprinkle of birthday love for my fellow Capricorns, all while inviting you, our treasured listeners, to feel every heartbeat of this journey. So, cozy up and let's create memories together with stories that transform our podcast from a mere show to a heartfelt community.

MORNIN BITCHES PODCAST

Speaker 1:

I love you and I love you no matter what, and I have unconditional love for you today and every day. And I just wanted to tell you that. I want to talk about the Emmys. Succession of triumphs. Josh Rottenberg what a name, rottenberg. It's almost like. Oh my God. I used to have a friend named Lipschitz and we used to say in school if his Lipschitz, what does his ass do? It's terrible, but true. Anyway, I think I was born with a friend named Lipschitz and I loved him.

Speaker 1:

A ceremony marked an emotional return after months of tumult in Hollywood, with TV's favorite scoring many wins. I love that. Kiran Corkin, I just love him Arriving fashionably late due to last year's bitter double strike of actors and writers. The Emmy Awards on Monday saw the television industry turning the page from that turmoil and it went everywhere. It was the biggest success and I was so moved to the important business of celebrating its own best and brightest. And, by the way, I love the Critics' Choice Awards. Oh my God, that was amazing. That was brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Okay, originally scheduled to air in September, the 75th, and I'm 76. So it started a year after I was born. Wood for more than six months, a standoff that further exacerbated such a big word and I love it anxieties in a business already upended by streaming and the pandemic.

Speaker 1:

On Monday, reaching back to celebrate work that aired and streamed as long ago as 2022, the battle-scored television industry belatedly came together again for the comfortably familiar ritual of its biggest award show Three series Succession. The Bear and Bee dominated the night with each enjoying near sweeps in the category, as many predicted. Hbo's Succession, which led the pack with 27 nominations for its acclaimed final season I've never watched it. I guess I should. Huh Was among the night's biggest winners, earning the award for drama series, along with trophies for lead actress Sarah Snoke, lead actor Karen Colkin was it already? I've loved Supporting actor, drama actor Matthew McFadden and writer Jeremy Armstrong. Fx is the it the bear, which already aired its second let's turn the page here. Six-hung buddy Okay Season okay, I got to watch that now, too, was crown comedy series. For its debut season, it picked up five other comedy awards, including lead actor Jeremy Allen White, supporting actor Emman Morse, back rack and supporting actress Iowa Derby.

Speaker 1:

This is the show about family, found family and real family, which I've found so many people on TikTok. They're my found family Adiri Edda Beery said, paying tribute to her parents in one of several moving speeches throughout the night. Thank you so much for loving me, making me feel beautiful and black and proud of all that. Probably not a dream to immigrate to this country and have your child be like I want to do improv, but you're real once.

Speaker 1:

Netflix's road rage beef also had a big night in the limited or anthology series categories winning best lead actor, steven Young, lead actress Ali Wong, and writing and directing Lee Sung Jin or Yin the daily show with Trevor Noah, one talk series for the first time since John Stewart stepped down in 2015, making Noah, who left as host himself more than a year ago, the first black winner in the categories history. Yay, taking the stage at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles first time. And me. So Anthony Anderson steered clear of the strikes and his opening monologue. Instead, I Got Fleming the throat and I can't talkie, okay, okay.

Speaker 1:

Anderson kicked off the show With the musical tribute to some of the favorite shows of his childhood years good times. The facts of life in Miami Vice Leaning into a sense of nostalgia for an earlier and, in general, financially healthy era in the industry that ran through the entire company of its reflected on 75 years of TV history, we're going to commemorate the greatest shows of today while paying tribute to some of the iconic series that means so much to us. Anderson said, simply put Television has shaped the world and, more importantly, it's shaved. It's shaped me, not shaved me. Anthony Anderson, I love that space between your teeth. You don't have it, no more. Throughout the show, from her seat, the audience, anderson's mother, dara's and cox played speech clock and for us, the sternly telling stars like Jennifer Coolidge, who won the comedy supporting actress prize for HBO's the white lotus when they needed to wrap up it, thank you.

Speaker 1:

Scrammling the usual awards calendar, the strike pushed the Emmy somewhat awkward, awkwardly, into the heart of the movie industry's Oscar season, just over a week ago, gathered for the Golden Globes, where several of Monday nights Emmy winners, including a DeBiri, won. Oh yeah, you, and Wong and McFan were also honored. To normalize the cadence again, a second Emmy ceremony is planned for later this year in September, putting the TV awards season back in its traditional trap as Atomic. Against the angst in Hollywood, in, the Emmys offered a fond look Back at the love it shows from the past, with cast members cheers, game of thrones, grace, anatomy and Martin were not reuniting to hand out awards. That was beautiful, but even as the show largely steered clear of any mention of the recent industry strike, there were hints that all is not fixed in Hollywood. A lot has changed in the last 46 years for the better. Progress has been made. Comedy legend Carol Burnett said as she presented the award for lead actress in a comedy series and it truly warms my heart to see how well men are doing in comedy and one of the night's emotional Highpoints and one of its relatively few politically charged expense acceptance features, meesey Nash bets brought down the house when she accepted her award for supporting actress in a limited series for Netflix's Dama monster, the Jeremy Dama story, marking her first time time. Any Good fucker. I want to thank me believing in me and doing what I said I could not do. That's what I always say. I want to thank me for doing what I believe in for me. Nash said in a rousing speech that double is a call to action issue dedicated a price to black women who've been unheard yet over police like a character Glenda Cleveland, brent Breonna Taylor and Sandra Bland oh my God, you love that. I'm crying here and the winners are going to tell you if you didn't see the show.

I'm looking for some advertisers to advertise with me, for me and with me, because there are so many fabulous products that I use and I'd love to talk about them on my podcast. So think about that. I mean, I love Tinder. I advertised for them last year. I'd love to work with them again, finding your soulmate on Tinder, think about it. And other products, too, that I really use on a daily basis or eat, you know yogurt, milk, popcorn, so many things that I use.
