Most of us start out in life with some pretty ambitious ideas of the kind of lives we want to live, the kind of people we want to be, the relationships we’d like to have, the kids we’d like to raise. They’re all good and noble ideas, but when we stack all those things up against our current reality, often those two don’t measure up. It’s not because we are slacking off, but we simply lack the power to pull it off.
