At the heart of this prayer is a request for God’s divine protection. Why? because we live in a fallen world, a world that bombards us with evil all day, every day. Now, some evil is overt/covert, but from the time you wake up in the morning until the time you go to bed at night and even while you’re sleeping, you and I are in perpetual danger.
