Father Jackson accepted the call to be the next Rector at St. John the Baptist in 2011. Before that, he served on the pastoral staff of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Scottsdale for four years.

Fr. Jackson has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of Connecticut, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from St. John’s University, New York. He practiced law in New York and Washington, D.C. for more than 20 years, and was a law professor.

In 2002, he and his wife, Barbara, moved to the valley, and he spent three years as Executive Vice-President of the Harlem Globetrotters International, Inc., before embarking on the call and study for ordained ministry.

From 2005 to 2007, he served as Director of a faith based, non-profit service organization called VICap Faith in Action, in Phoenix. He then accepted the call to serve at Resurrection Lutheran Church.

He spent three years in liturgical study, spiritual development and training at Trinity Cathedral of the Diocese of Arizona before being called to St. John the Baptist and ordained into the Episcopal priesthood.

He and Barbara have two sons and two grandsons.
