AN UNCHANGING MESSAGE TO A CHANGING WORLD (PART 2) -- I KINGS 22:1-8
Feb 16, 2020

We're studying Jehoshaphat, a good man who tried to do a good thing, but he did it in the wrong way. He got himself in league with ungodly Ahab. There was no prayer (vs. 4), but in vs. 5 He said, "We ought to pray about this." He had already made up his mind and given his word, but he was like so many today that plan, plot, agree, and afterward they pray to God and ask Him to rubber stamp their ideas. Ahab had 400 paid court prophets that he called together (vs. 6), and they all spoke in unity. Jehosaphat asked for a prophet of the Lord, so they sent for Micaiah. Hear what he was told in vs. 13: "Don't mess this thing
up. Four hundred of us have said we can take Ramoth-gilead, so don't you mess it up." We have an unchanging message to share with the world. It is as old as the history of mankind upon the earth. Yet, many in our world and in "religion" want to change or disguise the message today because Satan wants to hide the Gospel from the lost. Every child of God, especially every true preacher of the Word should echo the words of Micaiah: "As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak." With these things in mind, I want to give you 3 more thoughts that should guide and encourage us as we share "An Unchanging Message To A Changing World."

  I.  IT IS BETTER TO BE HATED FOR TELLING THE TRUTH THAN TO BE LOVED
      FOR TELLING A LIE.
II.  IT IS BETTER TO STAND ALONE WITH THE TRUTH THAN TO BE WRONG WITH
      A MULTITUDE.
III.  IT IS BETTER TO ULTIMATELY SUCCEED WITH THE TRUTH THAN TO
      TEMPORARILY SUCCEED WITH A LIE.
