Powerback 33: Teach People How to Help You
It's often quicker and easier to do things by yourself than it is to take time out of your day to train someone else to help you. But is that what's keeping you stuck?
Look, I get it guys. If you've been doing what you do for years or decades, you know it like the back of your hand. You can do it quickly and efficiently. You know the ins and outs of what to do and how to do it. It's just so automatic. Then comes the deeper the thought of, well, no one can do it as well as I can do it, so I might as well just finish it myself.
Training takes time, right? But if you don't have time to train someone to help you with these items, then how do you have time to do them in the first place? You make time. You shimmy things around, you work late, you take the laptop home, you're up early, you get burned out, you get tired, you get frustrated.
You would be amazed at how many people want to help you. But first, you have to teach them how they can help you. This week I want you to take your #powerback by going through all the things you do on a daily basis and then train someone on how to take at least one to three of those things off your plate.
It's time to loosen up your control grip and let people help you — because it benefits a whole lot more than yourself once you do.
