10 Ways to Stay Sane and Productive in Lockdown

Today I want to talk about ten strategies that keep me sane and productive during lockdown, or any other time I’m working from home day after day. If you’re new to remote work, want to spice up your routine, or just need to listen to something for ten minutes to entertain yourself, this is going to help you.

Get up at the same time every day. When you stop following a routine, things can get out of whack pretty easily.

Get dressed. There’s a mentality that goes along with being dressed versus having no pants at 5:00PM. It makes you take yourself more seriously.

Scheduling. If there’s no boundaries, you may not be disciplined with your time or you may overwork. Put everything on the calendar so you can maintain balance with work and free time.

Reach out to your friends and family. The world has slowed down and it’s a great opportunity to catch up with people.

Workouts are important. Don’t miss or neglect them, and hold yourself accountable.  

Make time for your hobbies. Time block the things you want to do and maybe haven’t had the time to try out yet. It’s a bit easier to make time for them right now. 

Schedule breaks. This is important as it’s easy to get caught up in your work which leads to burnout and ultimately, less productivity. 

Don’t get interrupted. This is a big adjustment for most people as you’re not used to being around your significant other or family. Switching tasks can be detrimental.

Do a work challenge. Push yourself, because now is the time to be building and not pulling back.
