Katrina received her PhD in microbiology from the University of California Davis, and joined the Alaska SeaLife Center as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Tuula Hollmen’s Eider Laboratory in 2011. She became a Scientist at the Alaska SeaLife Center in 2015. Her research interests include microbiology, immunology and cell biology. Her projects are focused on infectious disease and immunology in marine animals and coastal ecosystem processes and bioindicators. She primarily employs biochemical and molecular methods in her research.
