Discussion about why citrus may not produce fruit in some cases whether it is a late freeze or when it is put in a new environment. Landscape fabrics are supposed to control weeds. But applied in the wrong way it may not work. Some say lawns don't belong in the desert while we have acres of golf courses here.

Newcomers to the desert can make some serious mistakes in thinking that it is not a hostile environment. Unexpected freezes make citrus a gamble in some places even though trees can look good. And some technology doesn't transfer well from commercial applications to residential spots. And lawns, you better have a good reason for planting one because they can be frustrating if not planted, irrigated and managed correctly. Deserts can be unforgiving when it comes to gardening and horticulture.
