Guthrie has a unique way of looking a the guitar and briefly tells us about it before giving us some unique insight into his guitar clinics and Richard's interest is piqued.  This then turns into a conversation about food and then about roots and folk music. And Wales.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 584 of the Chasing Tone Podcast  - Brian is not a fan of Spotify's Ai suggestions and partially destroys a vehicle 

Brian has been re-enacting one of his favorite movies by destroying his trailer at an outdoor gig and tells us the hilarious tale which contains many, many woes! He concludes that he may not be a camping person and Blake offers some sagely advice. Meanwhile Richard's family continue to inhabit the late 1800's.

Blake has been hanging with Coheed and Cambria and he is stoked about his experience despite Richard trying to drag him to the gutter. He has ended up with GAS and tells us all about it and also tells us of a kitchen based disaster from his past. 

Richard gives us vague clues about a product release this week which coincides with the opening of this year's Guitar Summit in Germany and has a new musical guilty pleasure. Brian has been stimulating some conversation on the Internet following his recent interview about digital products which got picked up and spun by a few magazine sources. The guys break down the question that caused all the kerfuffle including "that" American Vox and chat about the role of technology in the music world.

Richard is confused by the kids and coins the term Whymenials whilst discussing digital vegans and Brian makes some fierce accusations including one that involves a mullet. Blake makes various camera based confessions and there are some worrying developments before Brian talks about his heavy gig schedule. 

Blake has a new guitar, well kinda, and he tells us all about it during a nostalgic section that involves zero Englishpersons...until the scoundrel returns. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 581 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian's video with Rick Beato, Exploding tubes, and the BOSS PX-1

Richard is feverish with excitement about the new Rick Beato interview with David Gilmour whereas Brian and Blake are almost completely nonplussed. This somehow becomes a discussion about pork chops before the guys look at some controversial comments from another ex-member of Pink Floyd. 

Boss have released a new pedal, the PX-1, which is a 'plugin loader' pedal and the guys look into it and have some interesting views about why the Internet shouldn't be as mad as they are. Brian thinks it looks a bit like a LEGO pedal - but that may not be such a bad thing. Do you still use a Wah pedal? Brian sets forth the motion that nobody does any more. 

Brian also managed to nearly set fire to his barn when one of his amps went supernova and he tell us all about it. Richard has a new pedal day with a vintage classic and the guys nerd out about op-amps. Finally Blake is allowed to talk about his new amp day and there is much rejoicing.

Richard has lost 25% wisdom and is now at a deficit...he tells us tales of childhood fears and lessons learned before the business of the week is addressed. The news that Ozzy Osbourne passed this week takes a big focus for the guys as it has affected everyone to different degrees. Richard tells a story of how his friend went drinking with Ozzy how he discovered Black Sabbath - it may involve a certain legendary pub and a small piece of paper. Yes that sort of paper. Will there ever be another Black Sabbath moment in music? We hope so. 

Brian has become a JCM 800 guy and has eschewed his former Fender amp roots. The UK JHS has announced they are closing - for those that aren't aware they have been one of the UK's biggest distributors of guitar related goodness for about 50 years and Richard laments their demise a little. Brian and Richard are back for Episode 573 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Is the current model for guitar gear demos completely broken? 

Blake has disappeared into an alternate reality for a week's vacation so Brian and Richard take the reins...you have been warned! Richard defied previous wisdom and paid for the stream for the Ozzy Osbourne retirement festival and he is very glad he did. Brian reminisces about the good ole' days and Richard has various half baked opinions about the music he witnessed. 

Richard got the creative urge to record some music and talks us through it and ponders about a particular feeling that he has identified. Brian reminisces about some of his early shopping experiences and goes misty eyed when Richard brings up a certain smell. Yes, you read that correctly. There is also a dubious smuggling tale.

The question about guitar YouTubers and gear demos comes back up and the guys talk about how the landscape has changed for content creators. Brian offers some invaluable information and Richard is an idiot so business as normal. They do however both agree on future career choices.

Richard educates the guys on the recent Glastonbury festival and some of the controversy that surrounded a certain act - and he has also got some observations on the music too which made him very happy. He also apologizes for any dog squeaker noises you may hear from his enthusiastic puppy. 

Are we seeing a rise in a new demographic for guitar players? An article in Guitar World made the guys ponder something about the current guitar buying public and it has got the old grey matter moving a little. Brian ponders whether he should create an Only Fans site. Yes, that is what I said. 

Brian has finally released the Ultimate MIDI course over at GuitarPedalHorse, sorry GuitarPedalCourse.com and the guys discuss this. It is a really big deal to Richard and he is audibly excited when Brian pays him a complement. Blake tries to convince Richard to oil up and wiggle into the Black Sabbath concert and finally the guys discuss whether or not guitar YouTube is dying.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 570 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - A mysterious fuzz appears and is this the worst gig of all time? 

We start off with pangolin based connotations and it's honestly not going to get much more intelligent beyond this point. Brian on the other hand has gone back to his carpentry roots and is in pain as a result so perhaps he should join Blake in his new sauna. Richard saw some live music and has observations and has finally completed the Ultimate MIDI Course! 

The death of the legendary Brian Wilson had Richard taking a long needed deep dive into the Beach Boys and was very pleasantly surprised and somewhat blown away...Meanwhile our good friend Andy Wood was on the Rick Beato show and the guys all discuss how much they love this before a pick falls out of Richard's beard. 

Line 6 have just released a new modeler and the guys feign vague interest. Brian may or may not be about to play a gig in the nude and Richard has suggestions for avoiding injury and has been sent a mysterious fuzz. Brian has fallen in love with a vintage Marshall...

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 569 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Don't touch Mr Frost's Muff and Brian makes a huge confession   

Good Morning tonechasers! Brian van Winkel has aroused himself from his slumber and he is suffering from a severe case of builders' crack but has invented the successor to MTV so all is well. Do you enjoy making music? Some Ai feller thinks that the fun is not in the playing and the guys rage apoplectic at this outrageous notion.  

Brian tries to describe a famous cryptid and fails and the irony is observed. The rise of Ai videos has got the guys worried (again) so Richard asks the machine what Brian thinks about Pink Floyd...and he makes a huge surprise confession! Richard is sad about the death of Sly Stone and pays tribute to one of his favorite musical bandleaders of all time. 

Should Wampler make a new tweaked Tumnus? There was a post in the Wampler Facebook group and Richard challenges Brian with the idea. Richard has an idea for a new video series and Blake is not impressed as he repeats his explanations. He has also has visited the worst pub in the world and tells us about it. Blake is excited by the Wigan kebab.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 568 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - In the court of the crimson Klon and everyone has a Tubescreamer, right?

The band is back together as Brian returns to the recording studio and Richard has some ice cream tips for cannibals and a returning finger pain. He has a new pedal idea for a compact board and the guys tear him a new one...Meanwhile the Earthquaker story got on to the mainstream news and Blake uses a big word. Twice! 

There was big pedal news just before we recorded as pedal legend Bill Finnegan of Klon Centaur fame issued a legal statement via social media so the guys dig into it. This once again tuns into a new business idea that is legally questionable at best and then the guys develop the ultimate formula for podcast success. 

Brad Paisley had the Rick Beato treatment this week and Brian cannot hide his undying love for Brad and Vox style amps. Somehow the conversation jumps from Ai to pole dancing and there is much confusion and some hilarity.

Ai Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 567 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - The great JHS Notadumble-fumble humble-bumble and is this a new golden age for guitarists?

This week Brian is temporarily waylaid by "stuff" so Blake and Richard tackle the show without him for the first time since records began, although there is a very brief appearance from his Ai alter ego. Valeton have released a very interesting mini multi fx pedal and IR loader and its so inexpensive Richard feels compels to buy one. Meanwhile Blake has received and email about NAMM Next and breaks down the implications. We also pay tribute to Jim Irsay, billionaire guitar collector extraordinaire, who sadly recently passed.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 565 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian reveals a deep dark secret and will robots ever play the blues?

Blake has an evil plan and the guys caution him against it and check his credentials for podcasting. Richard saw an ai powered robot on TV and it has scared him so the guys discuss it and Brian makes a confession. He also asks some questions about the future of humanity and Richard has a foolish plan. 

Richard and Blake have had some late night DAW issues which caused them much anguish and woe and swap tales. Richard also has stupid podcast jokes. Brian questions Blake about his DAW of choice and Richard has a new album to listen to which Brian is unimpressed with.

There have been some major moves in the corporate world of music with Samsung buying a number of HI Fi brands and closer to home, Thomann appear to have bought Hughes and Kettner. Blake bursts a bubble when he reveals the source of a musical legend. The guys then talk about band load-outs and why modelling might be the future again. Brian then reveals one of his lifelong goals.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 564 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian has serious GAS, JHS release the Notadümblë, and the spray bottle returns...

Brian has extreme GAS for the new "Uncle Brad" Paisley telecaster from Fender and he needs to find a way to purchase it immediately. His trading terms may be biased in his favor. Richard talks about a live band he saw that had an unusual technique and the lessons he learned.

Richard has seen a remarkable music film and discusses it while Brian and Blake make some impressions. Brian explains the alternative Nashville in Indiana and Richard makes a localized joke that sinks flat. Brian ponders how he is going to make it through a mammoth biker gig.

JHS have released a follow up DIY kit to their hugely successful Nötaklön and the guys chat about it and wonder whats going on under the hood. Richard fantasizes about goat powered chariots and Brian confesses he is not alone. Brian gives us a little insight into the process behind bringing a signature pedal to life.
