Let's chat about chat. Chat is of course an amazing feature and amazing thing. It's sort of taken over the world. You have chat inside, like every Internet tool that you use, Gmail Chat, you have Microsoft teams, you have Slack, you have, um, just every kind of chat under the sun. So why does staffbase have a chat? What's the point of Staffbase chat? Um, why did companies use it when they do use it? Um, the first comment is staffbase we're really a communications platform first and that's what we focus on. An hour chat, a plugin as we call it. That's not the epicenter of what we do. And not even all of our customers use chat, um, for security reasons or for other reasons, uh, companies might not need to use our chat capability, but sometimes they find it really useful. And, um, so let me say a couple words about what the chat functionality is that we've built and then I'll mention what the cases are, where we see it provides a lot of value for our customers.

What it is, is it, it's, it's a private chat capability, meaning that it's about conversations, either one on one or group conversations that are private to that group. Um, much like setting up a group text on your phone or a text on your phone. Um, it's very easy to create a chat with one of your colleagues or a group of your colleagues. You can name that chat, you can send each other attachments, you can send video over chat. We even have a chat bot where you can schedule, um, that the BOT will automatically send work anniversary messages or birthdays. Um, and you have other cool features like user group targeting so that if you're an administrator you can quickly create chat with a huge group of people. Um, based on, you know, a group that's coming out of your active directory or out of your HR system.

Um, and things like muting chats and archiving chats. So if you don't want to have notifications about this particular, um, chat thread or that particular chat thread, you can mute that and you can archive old chat threads as you will. So it's a pretty robust chat offering. Um, comparable to other, I would say relatively simple and straightforward, uh, chat offerings that you might see kind of like texting on your phone. What it does and why it creates value for our customers who choose to use it. Um, is typically the ones who choose to use it are in a situation like many of our customers do where you have a group of your employee population that are not at a desk. And for this reason they're also not license to the same set of tools that your desk workers are using. So while in your organization you might have a bunch of people who are using slack are using Microsoft teams.

Um, those tend to be made, maybe it's your corporate employees who comprise 40% of the workforce who are using those tools. But then for the 60% that are non desk, they don't have a chat client at all. And a big part of the magic of Staffbase is bringing these two groups together for communications in general. And the magic of chat is like the same principle that you're bringing these two groups together for chat. So it's the chat client that bridges the gap between the non desk workforce and the desk workforce. That's point of value number one. So now folks who are in your desk workforce who wanna chat out to non desk can easily do it, which might not be possible in your environment to that. Um, the other big point for chat is that because, um, organizations might typically not have a chat client today for their non desk workforce. That non desk workforce by itself might be using a situation which is commonly referred to as shadow it. So they are using whatsapp or they're using their own group texts to do work and um, the it department for reasons of security data security for example, would really prefer for that to be in an enterprise type environment on an enterprise class software system with enterprise class security controls like staffbase. So that would be the other like big picture value that the staff based chat is providing to those of our customers who choose to use it.
