Show Notes

Heading into our summer season, we move from childhood stories to our college and young adult years. This first episode discusses our unique experiences learning about gender inequity through the lens of Tom’s experience in the first co-ed class at West Point, and Eden’s journey coming out as non-binary. We compare and contrast how our outlook on gender changed during our college years, and discuss how this impacted our understanding of systemic oppression and our anti-racism work as white people. We also share thoughts on what we think it takes for a person to be able to understand and challenge their own biases.

This short episode was the hardest one to record and edit which reflects our intent of moving our conversation from our childhoods to our current lives. As with all of our episodes, this is a standalone episode, which means that you don’t have to listen to any other episode to enjoy this one. We hope you find this short conversation interesting.
