Today's episode is the first of my Athlete Nutrition Profile Series on the Eat for Endurance Podcast, and I am very excited to kick things off with Matt Wilpers!
Matt and I go way back, to when we met in NYC coaching a triathlon team together. He’s an incredible athlete and coach who brings both science and fun to training, which is exactly how I like to approach nutrition with my clients.
Matt has competed in many sports, including as an NCAA Division I Cross Country and Track distance runner for Georgia State University. He also has been coaching runners and cyclists for over 10 years, with positions at Equinox, Mile High Run Club, and currently, at Peloton, where he leads the PowerZone training programs along with Denis Morton and also teaches at the Tread studio. If you take Peloton classes and haven’t checked out his yet, you must! I am a Peloton bike owner myself, and am a huge fan.
I’m sure many of you are eager to know, “What does Matt eat?!” So, let’s dive into the fun discussion I had with him at the Peloton HQ last month so you can find out.
