Chances are good that you think of yourself as a pet owner. Think again! You're actually in a relationship with a sentient being of a different species. And even if they do lick themselves in places you can't they're just as smart as you - probably more - when it comes to managing your relationship with them. Most humans have a really unique way of distancing ourselves from our role in what causes speed bumps in relationships. Definitely with other humans - does the blame game come to mind - and most especially with our animal companions. In 80% of the cases of "animal behavior issues" humans are (at times unintentionally) the root cause. Take a look (which costs you nothing except your ego) to see where you have contributed to a "bad dog" or "naughty cat". You're in there - I promise.
