Many times we wonder, "What's next for my relationship with God?" or even "What's missing in my relationship with Him?" In this message series, we explore some of the most important steps you can take in your walk with God. Your Next Steps: "Serving" Romans 12: 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. #1. We are called by God to serve. John 13: 12-17 So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. #2. We are equipped for service. II Peter 1: 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. I Corinthians 12: 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. I Peter 4: 10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Romans 12: 6a Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: #3. Serving keeps us in a good place. the benefits of serving to your life... - serving brings great blessing and fulfillment John 13: 17 If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. John 12: 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Philippians 2: 9-11 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. III John 4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. - serving provides accountability in your life Matthew 18: 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. - serving keeps you physically off the dangerous path Psalm 1: 1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers.
