Richard Brodsky has been living with HIV+ since 1997, he is a brain cancer survivor since 2002, and a marathon runner for life. Brodsky is the only person in the world who is living with HIV and brain cancer. At age 67, Brodsky will be running his 67th marathon in Kisumu, Kenya on World AIDS Day 2019, an event sponsored by the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation. In conjunction with the marathon, Brodsky’s Foundation has sponsored 33 orphan dinner dances for 9,300+ Kenyan orphans since 2006 and provided medical care for 1,800+ Kenyan orphans. Brodsky’s future plans include running a marathon on his 100th birthday with his wife Jodi. Says Richard, ‘it is never a question as to if WE CAN, the reality is WE CAN! This is how people need to live, especially those living with HIV or cancer. Brodsky also authored two books: Jodi, the Greatest Love Story Ever Told and the 4th edition of Richard Brodsky’s Journey of Hope is a work in progress.
