VITAL LESSONS ABOUT CHRIST’S RESURRECTION
Show Notes

The subject of Christ's resurrection is central to the Christian faith. This subject is so crucial that all the gospel writers gave prominence to it in their writings. The truth of the scripture is that Christ resurrected on the third day. Evidences of this abound in scripture. There are also historical and archaeological evidence that authenticate this claim. To therefore deny the resurrection means ignorance of scripture and a terrible denial of the power of the Almighty God to raise the dead. It is my prayer as we celebrate another Easter, that all of us would have a fresh encounter with the resurrected Christ.

Some of the vital lessons that can be gleaned from the resurrection would be the focus of our interaction this morning. May the Holy Spirit speak to each of our hearts and perfect His will for our lives on this resurrection morning in Jesus' Name. Amen.

7 Vital Lessons About Christ’s Resurrection.

1.  God is a Promise Keeper - Psa. 16:9-10; Matt. 16:21.

Our God is ever faithful to His promises.

Jesus agreed with the Trinity to die, with the assurance that He would be raised on the third day.

That promise was fulfilled. He was neither abandoned to the grave nor allowed to see decay.

Similarly, Christ severally told his disciples about His death, and that He would rise on the third day.

It came to pass exactly as He foretold.

Our Lord and God is a promise keeper.

He will surely do whatever He has promised you.

Don’t ever forget the ff scriptures 1 Cor. 1:9; 2 Cor. 1:20; Rom. 4:16-21; Josh. 21:43-45.

So beloved, let’s continue to stand on the promises of the Almighty God.

If God says it, He will do it! It is a matter of time.

2. Christianity remains the only authentic way to God - Jn. 14:6; Jn. 8:12; 1 Tim. 2:5.

That Christianity is the only authentic way to God is attested to by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The resurrection is the hallmark of the Christian faith.

It is the resurrection of Jesus that distinguishes Christianity from every other faith.

While the founder of every other world religion is long dead and buried, Christ died but rose again on the third day.

This is a historical fact. It a Biblical truth.

It is also a personal reality for those who have encountered the resurrected Christ.

3. Nothing can hinder God from accomplishing His determined purpose in your life - Matt. 27:57-60, 62-66

Despite the big stone rolled to cover the entrance to the tomb - V.60;

Despite the seal on the stone and the guard posted by the haters of Jesus Christ - V.62-66;

Despite the conspiracies against Christ and the gang up of wicked men and spiritual darkness, nothing could stop Him from resurrecting!

Despite all of the foregoing, Jesus still came out! Matt. 28:2-4.

Nothing will stop you also. You are coming out of your "grave" situation today.

Let every stone that has been rolled against your destiny be divinely removed today in Jesus' Name - John 11:38-40.

4.  Jesus Christ was very, very patient with His disciples - Matt. 28:1, 5, 8-10; Jn. 20:19ff, 25-29; 21:1-23.

Christ’s disciples were all slow learners like most of us - Lk. 24:5-6, 25-27.

It often took them some time to grasp spiritual principles.

Many times they mis-construed the teachings of Jesus Christ - Matt. 16:5-12; Jn. 4:32-35;

They quarrelled over such things as- who is the greatest amongst themselves.

Though Jesus told them many times about His death and resurrection, it still did not register in their minds.

When the reality came, they all fled leaving Him alone.

It was not only Judas who disappointed Jesus. All His disciples did.

Thomas boldly declared that he was not going to believe, unle
