The scripture is filled with accounts of individuals, families, groups, communities/ nations who received Supernatural Help. One notable example is Nehemiah. We shall be studying the book penned after his name all through the year 2018. May the Lord keep us alive as we do so. Don't miss any Midweek or Sunday service. If you cannot be in church for one reason or the other, follow us online to catch up. Nobody should be left behind. A. _________________to the Book of Nehemiah  The book of Ezra and Nehemiah is reported to appear as one book in the Hebrew manuscript.  Authorship: Initially said to be written together with the book of Ezra. However, a good part of the work is considered to be "an autobiography of Nehemiah’s” call to rebuild the wall.  Possible Date of Writing is 430BC  It is the last historical book in the Old Testament  Nehemiah's name means “the Lord Comforts.”  Nehemiah was the king's cupbearer in Susa the palace.  That was a very sensitive job that is given to only trusted individuals.  His job was to taste the wine before offering it to the king.  He was a younger contemporary of Ezra.  While Ezra was a priest and Bible teacher, Nehemiah was a politician and builder.  Ezra's goal was the purification of the people of Jerusalem.  Nehemiah's goal was the protection of the people of Jerusalem.  Both Ezra and Nehemiah were shown kindness by Artaxerxes the grandson of Xerxes who is reported to be the step son of Esther. B. Notable Verses in the Book of __________________ Neh. 1:3; 2:17-20; 4:6, 20; 5:19; 6:9, 16; 7:64; 8:10; 10:39c; 13:31. C. Nehemiah and ________________ Help It is amazing how God works in and through us when we allow Him. Nehemiah sensed the call of God to go and rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem and fix its gates. The Lord gave him the necessary backing. He was able to rebuild and finish this great project within 52 days. This is a miracle considering that the walls of Jerusalem had been destroyed and left in ruins for over a hundred and fifty years. This was SUPERNATURAL HELP! Even the enemies of God's people attested to it that the completion of that project could only have been by the help of God - Neh. 6:16. D. Don't Settle For _______Less Than Supernatural Help In 2018.  Natural help won't be sufficient - Psa. 60:11-12  Vain is the help of man. Cursed is he that puts his trust in man Jer. 17:5-8  Preternatural help would land you in greater trouble - 1 Sam. 1 28: 4 - 9.  Supernatural help is the deal - Isa. 41:10-14; Neh.6:16; Ps.121.
