* Audio gets better after the first 10 seconds. Being faithful is an important part of the spiritual life. We are taught that God is always faithful. But we are challenged not to take advantage of God but to rather be faithful in the little and great things we have been given. "Behind all slackness in the Lord’s service lie two things which are in the closest connexion, and of which each aggravates the other. The first is a misconception of God’s character, the feeling that He is hard upon us and demands more than is reasonable (24). The second is the evil spirit which grudges the labour and sacrifice which He asks (26). When these two things exist, there is always fear (25) and the burying of the talent. The servant has no love for the work entrusted to him; he cares little whether it succeeds or not; all that he cares about is that he may be able to say ‘Don’t blame me.’ It is such workers as this who are the curse of the Church at all ages."
