There's a big difference between us getting mad and acting out because we were offended or hurt, vs us getting angry over something that offends God.

Jesus was angry because of what they had done in His Father's house. They had a marketplace in the Temple and they controlled what people brought for offerings and things they where bringing for God, but they wanted to sell you what you give to God. They had made His House of Prayer and Worship into a house of business. They couldn't give their money, they had to exchange there money for the temple money. They had placed themselves between God and Man for their own gain. When someone puts themselves between God and those who want to follow him, He will get mad.

Note: He didn't destroy property or set the animals free, he overturns the tables and tell them to take those things out of My Father's House, don't make My Father's house a house of Merchandise! He had the authority and they obeyed. It was not a market place.

This was Prophesied in Malachi 3:1-3

Malachi 3 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Coming Messenger

3 “Behold, I send My messenger,
And he will prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, He is coming,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

2 “But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.

3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And [a]purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness.
