Sermons Out of Rural Ministry
Dynamic, contextual sermons from Pastor Josh Ehrler, who serves a small town ELCA Lutheran congregation in Northern Illinois. Sermons are rooted in scripture and reflect the local community, as well as the movements of the wider world. He and his congregation are affirming of LGBTQ+ personhood and live out their baptismal promise to seek (racial, economic, identity, environmental) justice and peace.

In our sermon for this week, we are reminded of all the ways that God is continuous on the move, shaping us to be shaped by new experiences and people. We hear about how part of our Lutheran theology is shaped by black theology rising out of Harlem because God moves God's people. Moses and Jesus are moved by God into new environments to ready them to walk amongst their own people. Through the movement of God, we are daily being moved from who we are to where God needs us, often despite ourselves. A message in our series, ThrowbackFaith.
