Brandon Moore / Hubert Payne

Hubert Payne is a professional drummer in Nashville, Tennessee mainly playing for the band “Little Big Town.” They’re a country music group with over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their most popular song reaching over 100 million streams. Little Big Town has won four Grammy Awards, nine CMA awards, eight ACM awards, an Emmy award and several others, including a CMT Artist of the Year award in 2015 and 2018. In 2015, they had the most downloaded country song of the year, and became the first band to hold a residency at the famed Ryman Auditorium throughout 2016 and 2017.

I was fortunate enough to meet Hubert back in 2016 through a mutual friend, as a reference to play on some of my personal music. Through that single session we formed a relationship that is near and dear to me, and have worked together on several projects since. Despite the level of his and his peer’s success, he still approaches life and music with genuine humility, integrity and passion. I personally think these are some of the biggest contributing factors to his ability of achieving all that he has. I’ve invited him in to give insight on his journey and what it took to pave his path.
