TSTG is a platform that brings together formerly incarcerated community members with people that work in fields that serve them. Together, we discuss and validate the assets we see in individuals that have been impacted by the criminal justice system and we view these assets as forms of Community Cultural Wealth.

In this episode, we break down Cultural Capital, flipping Evidence Based Practices over to Practice Based Evidence, and the value of traditional wisdom.

Concepts discussed:
Cultural Capital (Bourdieu & Passeron, 1977)
Critical Race Theory (Crenshaw, 1995)
Community Cultural Wealth (Yosso, 2005)
Practice Based Evidence & Evidence Based Practice

Literature referenced:
Research is Ceremony: Indigenous Research Methods by Shawn Wilson, 2008
Humanizing Research by Django Paris and Maisha T. Winn, 2013
