As Christmas comes, we are ushered into a season of so many things we love - hot chocolate, candy canes, snow men, yule logs, and perfectly wrapped gifts. But underneath the decor and shiny packaging is a story that runs deep and wide. Advent is the time we turn our eyes to a baby - the king of glory wrapped in flesh, arriving in an anxious, politically charged world. The manger is about a mission. And this mission is about God’s unrelenting desire to come close and restore relationship with the whole world. He came to proclaim hope, peace, joy, & love and show us a better way to live. This mission existed from the beginning and moves forward even now as you sip your peppermint latte. And the best part - you and I are invited to join Him on this mission. It’s what makes this the most wonderful time of the year.
