Speaker 1:

I'm Simon Shapiro and this is sing out, speak out here. I gave you the philosophies, ideas and songs I've been working on for many years but until now have shared just too few of because I've been afraid of you. And worse, I've been afraid of me, but my will to connect with you and share the best of me has grown greater than any fear. And that's why I am compelled. Just sing out, speak out

Speaker 2:

pushovers in front door. Hi everyone. Welcome to another episode of sing out. Speak yet exciting news today. We have just released, when I say we, I mean a couple of friends and I who are in this band called Keystone that we have been in for quite a long time and for many reasons we started on this record 12 years ago and are only able to release it now and I'm very excited that we can do it and I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of it. Uh, I'm very proud of this record. We recorded it with the producer now, very well established in Nashville producer Lindsay Rimes who is also a great mate of mine and he produced my first solo record. Back then we were all a lot younger and greener and he wasn't a renowned producer. And so when you hear this you might be thinking, well he probably should have been back then, you know, but he was on his way to becoming established and known for this kind of production and arrangement and that kind of thing. Uh, we put a lot of work into this record. All of us, his tone is myself. I am the bass player and one of the singers I sing most of the high parts. And then Lee Walker is what you call the front man and a lot of the melodies and also played guitar and Mike have a name monster drama and also saying in the band and there's also songwriter. So this particular first song I'm going to introduce to you today is called quarter life crisis. And it's the first song from our album, which is called way to nowhere. I'm actually working on a lyric video for it. And this is not my game at all. People before this year, I don't think I'd even put together like as much as a a video roll, what do you even call it? You know? Uh, but I've been trying to develop that skill. I wanted you to have something to look at while you're listening to the tracks. So hopefully as I introduced them in the coming weeks, I'll get better at my lyric videos or visual things that you can look at. But the first song, quarter life crisis, uh, we wrote this after our first visit to the America where we went in 2006 it was the first time any of us had been to America at that point, I think. And it was definitely eye opening for all of us. And this song was written then sometime after we got back home and not about a specific person, but we meant a lot of interesting people in America. People kind of like ourselves who were there from other parts of the world trying to make it and a lot of whom got lost on the way. Uh, it's very easy to do it, especially when you're in a crazy town like that. When you lose your way, there are a lot of bad elements that I'm more than happy to lead you in the wrong direction. So that's what the song's about. Don't want to go into too much more detail. I think you'll hear it in the lyrics of the song. So we're on iTunes, we're on Spotify, all the usual places. Big thank you to avid play for being our partners in getting this out there. And I look forward to introducing more of the songs in coming weeks. It's nice to be able to deliver some new music to you. I hope you like it.
