Years ago a New Testament scholar told me that every time he went to an Interfaith event, his Jewish colleagues complained that he would say Antisemitic things in their presence. He was so tone-deaf to their concerns that he could not hear his bias and insensitivity.
In Christian circles it has become commonplace to dismiss and criticize Jews and Judaism. Often a lack of education regarding the development of the New Testament narratives leads to all types of Antisemitic tropes which are meant to ridicule and subjugate minority religions such as Judaism.
These criticisms often come from a desire to evangelize Jews, but at times it crosses the line between normative Christian perspectives to the same Anti-Jewish or Antisemitic polemics used by Church Fathers, Roman Catholic Inquisitors and Protestant dogmatists throughout history .
