JONAS ALDRIDGE
Regina!! Wake up!!
SEREBELLA REON
If we don’t grab her, she’ll float into space!
SOUND: PAUSE, TETHER LINE BEING DRAWN IN
JONAS ALDRIDGE
What are you doing?
SEREBELLA REON
(being pulled in by tether line)
If I jump straight enough...
JONAS ALDRIDGE
And if you miss you’ll shoot past her! Don’t do it!
SEREBELLA REON
There’s no other way! I do this now or we lose her!

JONAS ALDRIDGE

I have her! I’m using my tether now!

They’re drifting out too far!

URSULA NASH
(over comms)
Is anyone there? Hello?
SOUND: FUMBLING, KEYPAD
PAT MENDELSON
Uh, I think this is it, can you hear me Dr. Nash?
URSULA NASH
(disappointed)
Oh, it’s you. Is anyone else with you?
PAT MENDELSON
Anko, I mean Dr. Lumen is here.
ANKO LUMEN
Ursula, have you heard from them?
URSULA NASH
No, I was hoping they had reported to the bridge but I guess not.
ANKO LUMEN
They were heading to corridor 2 on deck something but we lost them after that.
URSULA NASH
The specific details would’vebeen helpful right about now.
PAT MENDELSON
Sorry. That’s my fault. I was supposed to be monitoring them but we got cut off.
Sure.
SOUND: PAUSE A BEAT
URSULA NASH
PAT MENDELSON
You don’t like me very much.
URSULA NASH
Is that really important right now?
PAT MENDELSON
I apologize, I get vulnerable when I’m nervous.
URSULA NASH
I don’t trust you.
ANKO LUMEN
Don’t blame Pat Ursula, it’s not her...
PAT MENDELSON
(interrupting)
It’s ok. I can understand that. Trust is earned.
URSULA NASH
It certainly is.
PAT MENDELSON
It would be nice if you could cut us a break a little bit though.
Especially now, this seems like a time when we really need each other, you know?

URSULA NASH
(reluctant)
You’re probably right. This would be a good time to put our differences aside.
PAT MENDELSON

URSULA NASH
I understand what you meant about being vulnerable.
PAT MENDELSON

URSULA NASH
I am, but I have my moments so I relate to what you’re going through.
PAT MENDELSON
That’s nice to hear. What do you think we should do?
URSULA NASH
I’d investigate if I knew where they were exactly.
ANKO LUMEN
We’ll keep trying on our end. It’s best to stay on lock down.
PAT MENDELSON
The captain told us to sit tight. We’re not supposed to leave the bridge.
URSULA NASH
I suppose you’re both right, that’s all we can do for now. Sit tight and hope everything is ok...

They’re drifting past the hull!
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Serebella! You’re running out of time! Do something!
SEREBELLA REON
(struggling)
What am I supposed to do?! My damn tether line is stuck! It’s not... wait! Regina’s tether!

SEREBELLA REON
I thought so too. Help me get her to medical.

URSULA NASH
What happened? Is it over? Set her here.
SEREBELLA REON
(bringing Regina in)
It’s over. There was an explosion, she was thrown into the wall.
URSULA NASH
Ok, give me some room. I need to run a full scan on her.
SOUND: KEYPAD, SCANNING
SEREBELLA REON
Will she be ok?
URSULA NASH
I don’t know yet, I have to find out the extent of the damage.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Why don’t we let Dr. Nash work Serebella. There’s nothing we can do for her now but get out of Dr. Nash’s way. She’s in good hands.
URSULA NASH
Thanks Jonas. Terry, while this is running, let me take a look. What happened to you?

TERRY MENDELSON
(wincing from the examination)
The damn miners got me with a drilling laser. Captain Rex controlled the bleeding for me.
SOUND: MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS
URSULA NASH
This isn’t too bad. You have some second degree burns on this gash. It looks like it just grazed you.
SOUND: APPLYING FIRST AID SPRAY, BANDAGES
TERRY MENDELSON
Oooo! Thanks doc.
URSULA NASH
Hey, where was Gilban?
SEREBELLA REON
Uh, that’s kind of a long story.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
We’ll fill you in on that a little later after you’ve had time to treat Regina.
URSULA NASH
If you say so. He’s got some serious questions to answer.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
He sure does.
TERRY MENDELSON
If it’s ok, I’d like to go see my wife.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
I’m afraid you can’t yet. The bridge is secured with Astrid guarding it. No-one can get in until Regina wakes up.
TERRY MENDELSON
You’re a captain, can’t you bypass the AI?
JONAS ALDRIDGE
I don’t have any of those access codes. Only Captain Rex does.
TERRY MENDELSON
That doesn’t sound ideal, for only her to have the codes.
SEREBELLA REON
(getting defensive)
What are you trying to say Terry?
JONAS ALDRIDGE
I think he’s right. In light of this situation we need to talk to her about this.
SEREBELLA REON
Is it ok if she wakes up first?
URSULA NASH
Let’s take it easy, this bickering isn’t helping anyone.

JONAS ALDRIDGE
Hey Anko and Pat. This is Jonas, uh, Captain Aldridge. The attack is over; we’re in the clear. There’s a hull breach in the 3C corridor.
Remain in the bridge until we can downgrade Astrid’s security protocol. Anko, start thinking about how we can close the breach. Captain Rex is receiving medical attention and will brief everyone when she can.
ANKO LUMEN
(over speaker)
Will do. Thanks for the update.
TERRY MENDELSON
(interrupting)
Hang tight honey! I’ll be there as soon as I can!

URSULA NASH

SEREBELLA REON

URSULA NASH
Her scan, it’s showing fractures in her spinal column.
SEREBELLA REON
Fractures? Like more than one?
SOUND: FOOTSTEPS, KEYPAD, BUTTONS, SWIPING
URSULA NASH

URSULA NASH (CONT'D)
I’m trying to isolate that area more closely to see the extent of the...
REGINA REX
(coming back to consciousness)
Oh, damn. This hurts.
URSULA NASH
Don’t move Regina, stay where you are. You took a pretty bad hit.
SOUND: FOOTSTEPS
SEREBELLA REON
Hey, I’m here. Take it easy, just relax.
URSULA NASH
I’m going to administer a pain killer for you.
SOUND: KEYPAD, BUTTONS, PAIN KILLERS ADMINISTERED
REGINA REX
(tired, drowsy)
Oh, that’s better. What happened?
SEREBELLA REON
The miners were breaking up the ship with some device until Jonas tossed one of my atomic grenades at them. The blast threw you until the wall.
REGINA REX
Is everyone ok?
SEREBELLA REON
Believe it or not, yes. There’s a pretty damn big hole in the hull though. And Astrid’s security protocols are guarding the bridge.
TERRY MENDELSON
Pat is still on the bridge Captain Rex. I sure would appreciate it if I could go see her. I haven’t seen her since everything happened.
REGINA REX
Astrid, disengage security protocol HB.
ASTRID
Confirming, passcode required.
REGINA REX
Rex, passcode 5E, 3, 2C.
ASTRID
Confirmed, security protocols disengaged.
TERRY MENDELSON
Thanks Captain, please excuse me. I’m going to go see my wife.
SOUND: FOOTSTEPS, HATCH, RUSTLING
SEREBELLA REON
Hey, just stay where you are...
REGINA REX

REGINA REX (CONT'D)
Ursula? Why can’t I feel my legs?!
URSULA NASH
(hesitant)
I was getting to that. You have fractures in your vertebrae.
REGINA REX
Ok. But you can repair them right?
URSULA NASH
I can, yes.
REGINA REX
Than why does your face still look like that?
URSULA NASH
I can repair the fractures Regina, but...
But, what?
REGINA REX
URSULA NASH
But you may never walk again.

(wincing from his injury during the hug)
Ouch. Where’s Anko?
PAT MENDELSON
He left to meet Jonas. You’re hurt! Are you ok?!
TERRY MENDELSON
I’m fine. Grazed by Artie Tomasin’s digging laser, that’s all. The prick almost sliced me in half.
PAT MENDELSON
So it was him. I thought I recognized his voice over the speaker.
TERRY MENDELSON
What did he want?
PAT MENDELSON
What do you think? He wanted his ship back.
TERRY MENDELSON
How did the captain react?
PAT MENDELSON
She sided with us after I twisted the poker story around a little. She believes it was our ship and you lost it in a bet. Just keep the story straight.
TERRY MENDELSON
Roger. It doesn’t matter much now.
PAT MENDELSON
Are they dead?
TERRY MENDELSON
Oh yeah, I saw some arms and legs floating around after that crazy bastard Aldridge set off an atomic grenade. The dipshit didn’t know it was atomic but it sure did the trick. A little too well.
PAT MENDELSON
What do you mean?
TERRY MENDELSON
Captain Rex broke her back from hitting the wall and might not walk again.
PAT MENDELSON
Oh wow, this could really work to our advantage.
TERRY MENDELSON
That’s not all. 5E, 3, 2C. Know what that is?
PAT MENDELSON
What?
TERRY MENDELSON
The captain’s security passcode for Astrid.
SOUND: TRANSITION, HATCH, FOOTSTEPS

ANKO LUMEN
I have to tell you, hull breaches are more of a Gilban thing, where is he?
JONAS ALDRIDGE
I’m afraid Gilban’s not at our disposal at the moment.
ANKO LUMEN
Alright, I’ll do my best.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Helmets and mag boots. We’ll need to tether ourselves right away.
SOUND: EQUIPMENT BEING PUT ON, HELMETS, MAGNETIC BOOTS POWERING UP

(wearing helmet) Ready?
ANKO LUMEN
(wearing helmet) Ready.

ANKO LUMEN (CONT'D)
Whoa. What caused this?
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Me, unfortunately. I threw the wrong grenade and then this. The bright side is that it took out the miners that were attacking us.
SOUND: MAG BOOT FOOTSTEPS, DEBRIS BUMPING AROUND
ANKO LUMEN
That’s good I guess, but man, this is a hell of a hole.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Can we fix it?
ANKO LUMEN
I really don’t know. We might be able to seal it, at least temporarily. We’ll have to visit engineering and see what kind of tools Gilban has.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Any recommendations for now?
ANKO LUMEN
Maybe we should try to pull in anything of value in here first. I see some weapon cartridges floating around.
JONAS ALDRIDGE
Great idea, let’s do it.
