Show Notes

We kick-off the first week of the Advent season by continuing our study from 1st Corinthians by looking at the "Love Chapter" of 1st Corinthians 13. In the English language the word "love" can be used to describe a number of things and through its multiple uses it has become very subjective and difficult to define. What does it really mean to "love" someone, or to "love" something? Is all "love" equal? Do we really "love" our spouse or children in the same way that we "love" a good meal or television show? In the Greek language of the Bible, there are several words used to differentiate what "love" means and it is through the study of those various words and their uses that we can begin to see the differences. 1st Corinthians 13 has become famous through its use in weddings but what is the real context of this very important passage and does it make a difference? Why is the word used for love "agape" in this Chapter so important for Christians and the church? Join us as we unpack the meaning of "Agape" love and lay a foundation of truths that are required to really understand this well known passage of scripture. From 1st Corinthians 13:1-3
