Show Notes

Welcome to Clewiston, Florida, "America's Sweetest Town!"  Located on the southern bank of Lake Okeechobee, the area was once used as a fishing camp by the Seminole.  The first permanent settlement began around 1920 and quickly became known for its sport fishing.  Sugar plantations were established in the area and became the leading industry in Clewiston.  The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail, or LOST for short, runs through the edge of the town.  LOST is 109 mile section of the Florida National Scenic Trail that runs from Miami to Pensacola.  The has also been called home by a handful of notable people to include professional fisherman, Roland Martin.  Martin is host of the long running TV series Fishing with Roland Martin.  We hope you enjoy our trip to Clewiston!
