Storytelling With Ngozi

The Orphan Who Became A Queen

Ngozi Edema

The first stories I heard as a child were from the Bible. And it is a great book that has been used for centuries to teach children morals. Many of them are still as relevant today as they were when they were first written. No wonder many still use these stories to teach their children.

Esther was an orphan who was raised by her cousin Mordecai. The family lived in the ancient city of Shushan.

Life back then was different from today. Listen to this story and see if you can spot differences or similarities to what we do today. Draw a picture of the Persian Queen.

Send us drawing and painting and you will be entered for this month's giveaway. Use the box provided in the episode's webpage.

The story teaches humility and respect for those in authority.
