The Lord Jesus Christ chose the time of the Jewish Passover to instate the Holy Communion. Indeed, the Holy Communion, with its bread and wine, was grafted into the commencement of the traditional Passover meal. Clearly, there is a strong connection between the original Jewish Passover recorded in the Book of Exodus chapter 12 and the Holy Communion that Jesus inaugurated. Therefore, it is not possible to truly understand the significance of the Holy Communion without possessing knowledge of the first Jewish Passover. This message, "Christ - Our Passover Lamb," clearly points out the main elements of the original Passover and how they relate to the Holy Communion. It shows that Jesus is the true Passover Lamb, Holy Communion is the Christians' Passover, and both the Lamb and the Holy Communion enable Christians to embark on an Exodus from sin into righteousness, from death into life, from slavery into freedom, and from sickness into health!
