GRANDPAS FOR JESUS DAY TO MENTOR AND BLESS FATHERLESS BOYS IN CHRIST!! PSALM 68:5 - FATHER!!
God is the father to the fatherless. God is the father to the fatherless. He will love God and protect you. God is the father to the father.
SPEAKER_01This is Scott with Mentor Me Ministries, mentoring fatherless boys for Jesus Christ. We have a great show for you today, and here is our founder and president Bobby Solomon.
SPEAKER_02Hello, friends. Hello, fatherless boys. This is Bobby Solomon. How are you today? I'm so glad to be talking to all of you today and sharing with you about a very special day as a ministry, mentor me ministries. And remember, our mission is to mentor fatherless boys for Jesus Christ. As a ministry is a very special day for us. We call it Grandpa's For Jesus Day, a day to bless and mentor fatherless boys in Christ. Grandpa's for Jesus Day. And when is that this year in 2026? Well, it's going to be the day before National Grandparents Day in the United States. And that day is Sunday, September thirteenth, National Grandparents Day in the US. The Grandpa's for Jesus Day is Saturday, September twelfth, twenty twenty six. It's the day before Grandparents Day. We want to make a special moment to pray and bless our fatherless boys from the grandpa. This is a special day we're calling Grandpa's for Jesus Day. When I say we're calling it, God is calling it to us in prayer. He gave us this day, Grandpa's for Jesus Day, to bless and mentor fatherless boys in Christ. This year will be Saturday, September twelfth, twenty twenty six, the day right before National Grandparents Day. It's called Grandpa's for Jesus Day. Praise Jesus. To talk more about this, I would like to bring in my co-host Oscar, who's our puppet friend. He's our salvation puppet friend because he so often enjoys talking about salvation, about being saved through faith in Christ. He can talk about grandpa's for Jesus because I believe that Oscar actually has a real life grandpa for Jesus. And most of you know who have been following the show that Oscar grew up a fatherless boy. He's now a young man. Oscar, how are you doing today, my friend?
SPEAKER_03Oh, Bobby, uh, I'm doing just fine in Jesus today. How are you? And how are you doing, friends or fatherless boys? Are you doing fine today? How's the grandpas for Jesus doing out there?
SPEAKER_02Yes, how are the grandpas for Jesus doing? Oscar, you told me you have a real life grandpa for Jesus. Now, is this grandpa for Jesus a spiritual grandpa? In other words, he's not like a biological grandpa or is he actually a biological grandpa?
SPEAKER_03Uh Bobby, uh I my my grandpa for Jesus. Uh, he's a spiritual grandpa. I don't know my real grandfathers.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you don't?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't know them, but this man is somebody who goes to my church and he's quite a bit older than me. But you know what? God kind of put us together and he's a grandpa to me. I love him. I just love him.
SPEAKER_02Well, this is great, Oscar, to hear this. This is what we want, right?
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, we want, and he prays for me. He prays, he knows what I'm going through at times, and I can call him about anything, and he just prays for me.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow, that is so awesome.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yep, Bobby, yep, yep. It touches my heart so much. I can go to bed and sleep at night, knowing that my grandpa for Jesus prays for me. Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_02Well, Oscar, we're gonna talk more about this, right? You're you're ready to talk more about it, aren't you, my friend? Yep, Bobby.
SPEAKER_03I would I would like to talk more about it, please.
SPEAKER_02Okay, just stand by. Yep, Bobby, yeah, I'll stand by. And we're gonna now talk a little bit more about what a grandpa is.
SPEAKER_03Bobby, Bobby, I know what a grandpa is.
SPEAKER_02Yes, Oscar, but not everybody, maybe, maybe not everybody really knows. It's a really simple definition. I mean, how could we not know? But let's just review it anyways.
SPEAKER_03Okay, Bobby, I'll be patient on it. Oh, I can't wait to talk more about the grandpas for Jesus.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, me neither. This is one of my favorite things right now. Grandpa, we have two grandpas, our grandpas. So the definition of a grandpa, he's a grandfather. He's also known as grandfather, he's the father of a person's mother, and also a grandpa is the father of one's father. And they're two. We have two of them, because these are two families. Two families, the children join together and get married. That is, a man from one of the families and a woman from the other family get married, and when they have children, then their children have grandparents. The parents of their mother and father are their grandparents, and they have two grandfathers. Now, having said this, I realize a lot of the fatherless boys don't even know their grandfathers.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Bobby, Bobby, oh, that's what happened to me. And you said it happened to you too?
SPEAKER_02Yes, it happened to me too. The only thing I have of of either of my grandfathers was an old like 35 millimeter film at a family get-together in Los Angeles, California. And my grandfather was holding me as a baby, and my mother used to tell me when we watched this, there's your grandpa, there's your grandpa, and that was my mom's father.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you don't have any other memory of him?
SPEAKER_02Oscar, I don't have any memory of him, but the 35 millimeter film shows him and me together. I don't remember him at all. Oh. And then my dad's father, the only thing I have from him is a letter. And I know his name was Samuel Solomon, but the letter was written to my dad after my dad entered the the service in World War II after he became an army infantryman man, infantry man.
SPEAKER_03Bobby, it's infantryman, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Infantryman. Now you're helping me, Oscar. Thank you. Oh, Bobby, don't mention it. Please go on. So I never really I don't I never met my dad's dad, I don't believe. And my mom's dad, my other grandpa, I don't remember him because I was only with him in his arms as a baby, and I guess then he passed away. And my father died when I was only 12 years old. So I didn't have my dad, and I didn't have either grandpa to be with. Oh, what a sad time for me.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Bobby, that's what happened to me. My my mother told me that my grandpas, they died. They died before I was even born.
SPEAKER_02They died. Oh no, and you didn't have your father with you either, did you? Uh no, Bobby, I I didn't either. Well, I guess this could be common with fatherless boys and many, maybe many other boys too, or and girls as well. Oscar, I want to circle back with you. Uh Bobby Bobby Oscar, you interrupted me again. It's okay. It's okay, my friend.
SPEAKER_03Oh Bobby, I'm sorry. I I just don't know what's what do you mean by circle back? Are we gonna walk in a circle or something?
SPEAKER_02I mean, what what is that? Oscar. Circle back. It just means I'm gonna follow up with you. I'm gonna come back in a full circle to this topic of grandpas for Jesus and talk to you about it in a moment. That's all it means, because I want to talk about more about who they are.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, Bobby, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02So we've already spoken about what is a grandpa and what is a grandpa for Jesus? Oh, Bobby, Bobby, I know. Oscar. Oscar, go ahead. Bobby, uh they're grandpa's, aren't they? Well, they're grandpa, but it could be any man of Jesus, any man of Christ who's fifty-five or older. It might be younger. If a Christian man feels like he he could be a grandpa, it could be younger than fifty-five. It could be younger than fifty. But we're just calling it right in the area of fifty-five years and older.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, Bobby, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_02Also, grandpas for Jesus, they pray a lot.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, my grandpa for Jesus prays all the time. Bobby, he prayed for me even before I knew him. Even before you knew him? Yep, Bobby, he knew about me because my mother told him he was praying for me for years before I met him. He was praying for you for years before you met him? Yep, yep, he was. And then I met him.
SPEAKER_02Well, Oscar, how didn't it make you feel to know that he was praying for you for years and before you met him and then you met him?
SPEAKER_03That it mattered so much to me. It mattered that he was praying for me. Because I believe it helped me with my life. I believe Jesus answered those prayers. Of course he did. But he gave him the prayers to pray. My grandpa for Jesus told me that when he went to pray for me, he heard from the Holy Spirit how to pray.
SPEAKER_02Wow, I love that. And one more thing. Yep, Bobby, yep, yep. Oscar, one more thing. Grandpas for Jesus love Jesus. They love him.
SPEAKER_03Oh yep, yep. My grandpa for Jesus loves him.
SPEAKER_02So, grandpas for Jesus are men, Christian men that are of grandpa age, fifty-five and over, perhaps in some cases, maybe younger. They don't have to have their own grandchildren. Often they don't have their own grandchildren, or they have grandchildren, but they also have fatherless boys that they pray for spiritually, and they call them their spiritual grandchildren. I have two spiritual grandchildren that I pray for all the time, because in my life I don't have any biological grandchildren yet. Oh Bobby, you will someday won't you? Well, we'll see. I hope so, but we'll see. Grandpas for Jesus pray a lot, and number three, they love Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep, yep, yep, for sure.
SPEAKER_02Now our Bible verse that we're going to use for Grandpa for Jesus Day is the same one that we use all the time, and that is Psalm sixty-eight five that says a father of the fatherless and a defender of widows is God in his holy habitation. And the key word there is father. God is a father, and he's a father to the fatherless. And grandpas for Jesus can pray for fatherless boys in the name of Jesus in the Spirit of God the Father. Amen.
SPEAKER_03Well, Bobby, Bobby, uh well, um, I don't want to seem like uh I don't know what I'm talking about, but Bobby, what is the prayer? I mean, what is the prayer uh sound like? Can you help us with that? That the grandpas for Jesus will pray. I I I actually um my grandpa for Jesus said to me once that uh uh that uh that God wants him to pray, uh that I'll have wonderful blessings in my life as I grow up to be a man of God in Christ. Is it something like that, Bobby?
SPEAKER_02I believe, Oscar, that yes, it is something much like that. I believe God wants us to pray blessings on fatherless boys, the way that they are special to God, that they would know God through faith in Christ, that they grow up to be men of God in Christ, they know what a family is, they understand what marriage is, and that God will move in their lives to help them with every single thing they need. And then if we know of specific needs that fatherless boys have, like your grandpa for Jesus, you mentioned earlier in the radio show, that you can call him and tell him what's going on and he'll pray for you, then that is a wonderful blessing for the fatherless boys. It could be so simple, just like this. Dear loving Abba Father, I pray for my fatherless grandsons that they will be blessed by Jesus Christ tonight as they sleep and in their lives for Jesus forevermore. Amen.
SPEAKER_03Amen. Thank you, God, amen.
SPEAKER_02Amen. Thank you, God, amen. Praise Jesus. Thank you, Oscar, for being with us today.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Bobby, thank you. Bye, Fatherless Boys. We'll talk to you next week.
