Tuning Team Canada with Adam Douglas
This episode features Adam Douglas. Adam is the Manager of Sports Performance with Hockey Canada’s Men’s National Teams. He has spent over 10 years working with both the Men's and Women's teams in a strength and conditioning and sport science role. He is responsible for building the physical performance plan for the U18 and U20 programs, including, off-ice as well as working with the coaches to understand the daily on-ice physical requirements to best prepare the players for short-term competition. During his years with Hockey Canada, he has been on teams in over 15 International Competitions, including 2 Olympic Games, and supporting teams that have won 5 gold medals. Adam also works as an Applied Sport Scientist for Catapult Sports, working and supporting ice hockey clients using the technology. In this role, he is responsible for driving research and innovation within the sport using wearable technology, alongside helping the clients deeper understand the data that they are collecting. Prior to joining Catapult, Adam spent 9 years as the head strength and conditioning coach at York University, and prior to that, he served in the same role with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club. Above all his accomplishments he’s a husband to Colleen and a father of two little ones.
