Leave Your Mark
The Leave Your Mark Podcast is where high performance meets human stories. Each week, we go beyond résumés and highlight reels to explore how extraordinary people, high achievers who are also genuinely good humans, have been shaped by their environments, experiences, and the people around them.
More importantly, we uncover how they are leaving their mark on the world.
Step inside the minds and lives of remarkable individuals from sport, business, arts, and beyond, and walk away inspired to leave your own mark.
Your host, Scott Livingston, has spent over 35 years in the world of human performance. He’s trained, reconditioned, and supported some of the best athletes on the planet, working inside elite performance environments and learning firsthand what it takes to be the best in the world.

What makes a good coach? Knowledge matters, but so does knowing when to explain, when to listen, and how to reach the person in front of you.
In Episode 499 of Leave Your Mark, I sit down with Christian Thibaudeau, a coach, author and educator whose work has taken him across 26 sports and 22 countries. Christian spent 11 years coaching high school and college football, has worked with Olympians and professional athletes, and has written seven books and more than 800 articles for T Nation and Thibarmy. He also created the Neurotyping system, which explores how personality can inform coaching, communication, training, and nutrition.
Our conversation moves through his early years in football and Olympic weightlifting, the mistakes that changed how he coaches, and the difference between sharing everything you know and helping someone learn. Christian speaks openly about self-esteem, his drive to earn approval, the injuries that came from pushing his own training too far, and what fatherhood has taught him about himself. It’s a thoughtful conversation about the person behind the coach, and the work of continuing to grow in both roles. Enjoy!
