Anne Marie talks to Impressions of America Podcast cohost Vaughn Joy about the historic footnotes found in the mundane every day life of people from the past.

Vaughn Joy is a PhD candidate at University College London and co-host of the Impressions of America podcast. Currently, she is studying early Cold War Christmas films and their reflections of and influences on American culture in the immediate post-war period of 1946 to 1961. Impressions of America is a podcast discussing wider subjects of culture, politics, and media that formed American life in the latter 20th century. Vaughn’s research has covered a wide array of topics and interests including demonology, comic book history, and theatrical adaptations of Greek myth before culminating in film history for her PhD.
