The Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist: Transubstantiation (the easy version) 2.1
Show Notes

We start the second part in this series, now looking into the Eucharist as the Presence of Jesus Christ.

The first comment is based on the words of Jesus. If the God, Father Son and Holy Spirit, created the universe with a word, then why would we be surprised if with a word the Son changed a piece of bread into his body.

The second was about transubstantiation. Substance is what never can change as long as the thing/being/person remains.  The accidents are the characteristics of the being that does indeed change. So, since "tran" means change across, transubstantiation describes the change of the eucharist, from the substance of bread to the substance of the flesh of Christ. The accidents remain the same, but the substance changes.
