🌧️ When Change Feels Like a Storm 🌧️

The train pulled out of Madras Central, and a flood of emotions overwhelmed me. Watching the buildings whiz past as the train gained speed, I felt like my world was crumbling.

I had it all—great friends, a supportive church community, exciting musical opportunities, and a settled life. Life seemed perfect. But as the train journeyed toward Mumba, everything felt uncertain.

When we reached Dadar station 24 hours later, the monsoon rain poured like the sky was dumping its sorrow. The city’s gray buildings loomed, mirroring my apprehension. Two toots of the train’s horn marked the start of a new, unwelcome chapter. Head in my hands, I pictured my shattered dreams.

If the story ended here, it would be a tragedy. But it didn’t.

In retrospect, that stormy train ride on the Dadar Express marked a significant turning point in my life: I met Sheila, who became my life partner and soul-mate, discovered various musical opportunities, made new friends, and decided to pursue full-time ministry. That “change” became the catalyst for a life filled with much joy and purpose.

Why am I sharing this? Because maybe you are standing at the brink of change, feeling apprehensive, unsure, or even hopeless. But what if this change is your turning point? What if it’s God’s way of moving you from the “good” to the “great”? As Jim Collins said, “Good is the enemy of great.”

Sometimes, letting go of what feels comfortable is the only way to step into something extraordinary.

Trust the journey. Embrace the change. You might just look back one day and realize it was the best thing that ever happened.

May God grant you wisdom, courage, and discernment as you step into the unknown.
