The Messiah: The Alpha and the Omega
Scripture: Revelation 22:13 (NASB)
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and nthe last, the begininng and the end.”
Today, we rest in the truth that Jesus is the beginning and the end.
He holds all of time.
He sees our past, guides our present, and secures our future.
Nothing surprises Him.
Nothing overwhelms Him.
Nothing is beyond His reach.
When Jesus calls Himself the Alpha and the Omega, He is telling us that our lives are never left to chance. He was there at our beginning — long before our first breath — and He will be there at our end, carrying us safely into eternity. Every moment in between is held, watched over, and lovingly woven by His hand.
We often live in the tension of what was and what is not yet. We carry regrets from the past, questions about the present, and fears about the future. But Advent reminds us that the Author of our story is still writing, still redeeming, still leading us toward His good purposes. The pieces that feel unfinished to us are not unfinished to Him.
He knows the chapters we wish He would erase.
He knows the pages we want to skip ahead to.
He knows the parts we cannot yet understand.
And still He says, Trust Me — I am both the beginning and the end.
When life feels uncertain, Advent assures us:
The One who began your story will faithfully finish it.
Not hurriedly.
Not carelessly.
But with wisdom, tenderness, and unfailing love.
Every ending in His hands becomes a beginning.
Every detour becomes a doorway.
Every silence becomes a setup for His next word of hope.
So today, rest in this truth:
Your story is safe with Him.
Your future is secure in Him.
Your life is held by the Alpha and the Omega.
Prayer
Alpha and Omega, surround us today.
Hold our past, present, and future in Your faithful hands.
Where we feel anxious, give us peace.
Where we feel uncertain, give us trust.
Where we feel unfinished, remind us You are still working.
Amen.
