The Messiah: King of Kings

Scripture: Revelation 19:16 (NASB)

“…KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

As Advent nears its climax, we lift our eyes to one of the most powerful truths about Jesus: He is the King of Kings. This title does not simply describe authority—it declares ultimate sovereignty. It reminds us that the child in the manger is also the reigning King of all creation.

Jesus rules with righteousness. His reign is not corrupted by selfish ambition or misuse of power. Everything He does is right, just, and good.

He reigns with justice. He sees what is hidden, hears the cries that go unnoticed, and will one day set all things right. No injustice escapes His notice. No wrong is beyond His redemptive reach.

He governs with mercy. Unlike earthly rulers, His authority is exercised with compassion. His power does not crush the weak; it lifts them. His rule brings healing, restoration, and peace.

His kingdom will never fail.

His authority will never end.

Throughout history, earthly powers have risen with confidence and fallen with finality. Thrones have been occupied and abandoned. Empires have promised security and delivered disappointment. But Christ’s throne stands untouched by time, unshaken by opposition, and unmoved by human weakness.

To confess Jesus as King of Kings is not only to believe in His future reign—it is to trust His present rule. It means resting in the truth that your life is not at the mercy of chaos, circumstances, or human power.

Let this truth steady your heart today:

Your life is held by the King who reigns above every king.

Nothing you face is outside His authority.

Nothing you fear is greater than His rule.
