Ken welcomes long-time friend of the podcast, Dr. Theon Hill. Dr. Hill is a professor at Wheaton College, an Aspen Civil Society Fellow and emerging social intellectual. The two reminisce over the first episode of the BWM podcast where Dr. Hill was Ken's very first guest. Then, they have a lively reaction to the Grove City College report that condemns Critical Race Theory and disassociates from chapel speaker, Dr. Jemar Tisbey. Dr. Hill expresses his weariness over invitations to debate the realities of racism in America - he's done with those fruitless conversations. Theon explains the engagement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Bell Hooks, Margaret Thatcher and others to explore values and ventures that lead to the common good in local communities. He has developed a focus on local black-owned businesses to expand markets and reach, creating jobs and careers in community implementing his work at the Copenhagen Business School. He shares the influence of Cornell West, James Baldwin, Malcolm X and Eddie Glaude, Jr., who has become his personal mentor and friend. Dr. Hill admits his concern that democracy is slipping away in America, unable to embrace pluralism. In view of the Supreme Court's attempt to reverse Roe v. Wade, the two discuss the problems of constitutional "originalism." There is a cloud of witnesses we need to hear.
