Show Notes Transcript

It is celebration time and time to say thank you. In this episode look back full of gratitude and reflect the inside of 19 episode with change makers, artists and entrepreneurs and guide you on the outlook what to expect.

For a lecture, that I was giving at at University about Managing and Leading in Arts & Cultural space, I reflected on the wisdom that was shared with me - the comparison & combination of the business and art hats, that we have to be switching from time to time, the inflection points that are opening these "windows of imagination" and as well the technological advances that are there to come.

For the future, I am looking forward to work on a higher frequency ( weekly) and to produced more content out of the wisdom with infographics, blog articles and sound bites.

The topics have been wide spread so far from my areas of interest and passion ranging from puppetry to workshop facilitation, agency work, storytelling all the way to the social impact.

With the in-depth series, I want to give a more profound but also diverse insight and kick-starting with the "Masters of Clowning" one area that has opened my eyes profoundly. From there on, I am super excited in the advances to technology (AR,VR,AI) but as well trends such as NFT / Crypo Art and how this provides options to create new business models as an artepreneur / entrepenartist or futartist.

Also announcing the ideas around my book "Create your own fusion" that will be accompanied with a workshop series and connecting the dots of my journey to kickstart the authorship voyage.

Once more, a big thank you to all the helping hands on the way, the listeners, the interviewees and to You.

Fabian Seewald:

It's celebration time. This is the 20th episode of the SeeArts Podcast. And first of all, I want to thank you for tuning in stay with us building this community. And we want to have a wrap up about the 19 episode that we had so far what we've learned and also have a look what's coming next, enjoy the session Welcome to the SeeArts podcast we build the bridge between art and business want to inspire you to see arts. What I'm so grateful for this journey so far, the first episode was recorded at the beginning of 2020. in Stuttgart, when there was still well, there wasn't any pandemic yet. And so the podcast really also helped me to come through the pandemic stay connected and get connected to other great people learn more about the technique, but also stay stay creative. So we had series about entrepreneurship with Start Now Start Simple Dan, who also helped me to get ideas moving forward, but also with great idols of mine, like Victor Kee, who was putting out this idea of creating your own formula on opening up these windows of imagination, because in the end, the last year showed us that art might not be system relevant. But for me, it has become existential for my survival. And so the invitation of the podcast was as well always to start doing your own art start or stay in movement, start painting. And in this sense, I think mission accomplished to a certain extent, I'm happy with the progress so far. Also, I would like to focus for the next cycle for the next year on in a way a higher frequency. Also do actually more out of this continent we're creating to like a small knowledge nuggets, write about it in in the blog post and also start longer series The next year that is actually coming up very soon is the series the masters of clowning. We're going to talk about this in a bit but first of all, yeah, let's let's have a bit of a wrap up. What were the persons we've been talking to, so as I'm a juggler, I had the big pleasure to talk to three jugglers with Viktor Kee like one of the most advanced but also artistic juggler Stan Antony tree here also has a very special workshop componetent we actually had the chance in October in between, like the more lighter lockdowns or the harder lockdowns, actually, to have workshop with him. And then it was Manuel Mitasch from junglist. Mo, he was like a very young artist, but also very technically advanced also challenging the status quo with technology. As my own philosophies as well create your own fusion. I think this diversity of these artists also showed, in a sense, how different you can approach the art and how you can dive in into different layers. And I love this so much about the arts as the idea of the podcast as well build the bridge between Arts and Business. We also focus in spotlighted business aspects of how to sell, promote and market your art. And when I was asking a question like how do you handle these, these hats, these different hats of being a businessman, but then as well, the artists, there are different approaches. I remember for example, Guilio, who was saying he also perceived the business side, the juggling of the numbers, as well as a piece of art and other people said they have some management so they are kind of like outsourcing it or they're really focusing on their zone of genius. I think it's really a question of how you're approaching it. But in general, like combining business and art stays a challenge, but it's an important task to master rather than talking rather to the agency and to like the event side of it with Brandon Shelper as well. Christopher Werth from Vok Dams. It was interesting how they perceive like the mixture of artistry, but then technology as well, the the craft of storytelling of, of provoking emotions, that artistry and the arts are part of it. And like there is an art of storytelling, but there is a bigger picture. So as well, this kind of like you as an artist you have to go in you have to zoom in what do you want to express, but then as well be able to zoom out see a bigger picture of you being part of something bigger. And I think that's also like one, one core learning. A question that I also asked all of my interviews was their relationship to flow, there are rituals both on stage but in daily life and for the artists among them. It's definitely that they have training rituals, that they have to be disciplined because it's not just these peaks, but it's really the incrementally getting better, incrementally, working working on the things and from there like the consistency that discipline brings the biggest results. Looking at my guest list so far, an also interesting aspect to look on, is the aspect of teamwork and rather solo artists. So we had a singer, songwriter, juggling artist. And then also like rather agency leaders, or creative directors that always work with large teams, but also want to put out a creative idea. And I think also the the process is interesting what happens to you if you're leading a team and artistically leading this team towards excellence? How much space can you leave, actually, for creativity of the whole group? And when do you have to put the the frame a bit more, a bit tighter? Actually, I think that's an interesting aspect as well. And I think everybody of us has this kind of personal creativity. But then for me, it's always like in a team, it's more challenging, but also you can create a deeper level because you're not just like in your own circle. But you, you kind of like overlapping in other areas, I think it's it's different approaches, because also like, there is a profound possibility to dive into yourself into your artistic expression. Also, me personally, I really prefer these overlapping areas, connecting the dots and creating fusions with with other artists. The goal of the podcast is obviously as well giving a hope and inspiration and when we will talk like the last question, what would you like to, to advice to young artists to makers, it's really the time of crisis that we're currently in for the art the events in, it's also always a big chance to, to start creating and also like kind of like the cards are reshuffled, they are mixed in a new way. So right now, it's actually a really interesting time to to get out there. I think that's it for a wrap up. Like what we've, we've discovered, I'm super grateful for all the participants, all the speakers, all the interview guests that join us so far, looking forward. One part is that I want to work on more intense series. So one topic will be clowning. So that gives me a great possibility to get more different points of view within like a series of five to 10 episodes and also engage the community into Well, this topic on a more intensive level. Other areas that I want to dive in, is definitely puppetry and giant puppetry. So have like a session with the different companies, leaders, creatives that work in this context. And like the event scene and and storyteller will be always part we will kind of spies in here and there and talk to creative directors, how do they direct where is the starting point, but at the same time, as well as see like, Where is the industry going? How much digital and hybrid events are out there currently? And what are what are pivot points from from there on? The last year was a creative and digital pivot for a lot of us. And part of the SeeArts podcast will also be like technology, outreach outlook, what are current trends going on from AR and VR? How is artificial intelligence enhancing the art game? There are great projection companies that I've already talked to for for an interview that are working, for example, ai data sculpturing. So really, really inspiring things out there. And other current trends for example, crypto art, and these NF T's and non fungible tokens will also go on to discover both from a technological point of view but as well to provide artists possibilities to build sustainable business models to also make a living from from their art. So a lot of inspiring topics to be covered from clowning, puppetry technology, the future of events and experiences and I'm so excited to continue this journey with you. And we're recording this 20th episode, we already have pre produced a few episodes about the future of space and also kind of how to use artistic interventions in the workshop and consulting business. So it's really building this bridge between Arts and Business in a mutual way not just put the business glasses on to make more money with the arts but also really think about how can the arts contribute to a better, more purposeful, more connected business life because I really believe and also my, my job and conducting workshops, but also like we don't do, being the creative Dynamo there and writing creative concepts and and being a puppeteers well. It's really that I enjoy being on both sides of the bridge. Sometimes you could argue that you're always like switching in between. But I think that's one of the abilities that we have to learn to quickly switch and transition and become in a way expert in various areas. also asking yourself at the same time, what is your zone of genius? My presentation, I often talk about our changes people and people change the world. That's something that I profoundly believe in. It also motivates me, even like in hard times to go on with doing because I really feel this kind of universal art is really something that is helping the planet is helping people to, to believe to believe in a better tomorrow and also to connect on a different level, even if there are other arguments in place if the, the attitudes are so different art can really be the ultimate connector. So yeah, it might not be system relevant, but it's really existential for for human existence, and both the experience of seeing and, and hearing some some pieces of art, but at the same time as well inviting people to do art themselves. Because there is a social aspect of the arts. And in the last episode, the 19th episode with us man have a job we were actually discussing, like the power and the impact of the art exemplified by far the Cambodian circus that reached a world record of this 24 hour plus one minute circus show. And my journey with the arts also rather started in this social aspect, inspired part in Mexico and I saw that social circus can have a big impact. So from a social circus, but as well, how sustainable solutions can also shift eventful, but also the art world, I think that's an really interesting tasks to tackle as well. So there, as you can see, there's a lot of, of topics and things to be covered. And I'm excited about the ongoing journey, I'd love you to engage to write about the topics of possible interview guests that that inspire you. And also comment on on Instagram to make this podcast format, as interactive as possible. For the future. I can also imagine a possible like interactive format on clubhouse that we have a live podcast after your it's a q&a session, I think it's really interesting how technology is evolving at the moment and giving us opportunities to to connect and dive deeper into and get really into internet exchange. So the podcast is actually a one way medium in the first place, but then be via Instagram, you can interact, you can share the conversation, but also write me an email. And I'm excited also, how when once like touring lights coming back, we can integrate this as well on on productions, too. Because this was the initial idea that I've been travelling so much around the world, and I thought I'm meeting so many incredible persons, how can I learn from them, but also make this knowledge more accessible. And it will definitely also help me in the book project I'm working on. It's called create your own fusion. And it's going into actually different aspects from neuroscience with peak performance and flow. But as well how do we create ideas, this idea of ideas, having sex and then creating the new new, it's really gone into into different aspects. And as well, like create your own fusion as well. Part of my journey between art and business, there's a space in between. In Japanese, there is this concept of Iki guy. So there's something The world needs something you get paid for something you love, and something you're really good at. And these are kind of like overlapping points. This is called your your IKIGAI. And I think as well, creating your own fusion is really like diving into what you need. And and then sometimes if you're then able to zoom out again and put the wiki guy in front of it. So what does the world need from from all of us? What are we good at? What What can we get paid for? And what do we love So it puts it on a different level, both for a family but as well for teams and companies. And I think we are in the privileged position to really think bigger, bigger than ever before. And that's what I want to inspire people with the SeeArts podcast but also with the work that I'm doing out there as a as a chuckling philosopher, and we are building building communities. We recently started another community. It's called Art of meetup arts of stammtisch. And we're also providing like a digital experimentation stage where we bring artists but also technology evangelist into give impulses to talk about their current ventures their experiences, but then also have an exchange have speed data and have digital performances. So to explore in a room Rather safe space, these new options that we have and learn from each other. So these are the things that I'm super excited for. And yeah, I can't I can't wait to hear your comments, your ideas. And from now on, I'm unhappy for the journey so far. I hope you're happy as well. And I'm excited about new guests more inspiration solos, like this one where I'm sharing my ideas with you. And yeah, let's build this community. Let's art up. And let's all see art because it's, it's important. It's important for ourselves for the world. And I'm grateful and grateful that you're joining in. And hopefully I can contribute a bit of inspiration to your journey. Have a wonderful day, and I see you around. Yeah, I can't say anything else, then. Thank you for tuning in. Also, I'm looking forward to your feedback. Let's interact and follow us on Instagram @SeeArtsNow. in pire your surroundings. Be ha py, full of joy. And I see yo soon. Let's see arts.
