It's a new music show (mostly) hosted by 20-year WBCN veteran dj Shred. We believe we need to keep moving forward with what we listen to and want to share our musical findings with as many folks as we possibly can, because we feel the bands we play should be more widely heard like it used to happen when a band was giving airplay on the local radio station. It has arrived: episode 100 of the weekly, since August 2023 new music podcast, The Broken Cassette Player, hosted by former 20-year WBCN dj Shred and delivering 5 of the best bands for you to hear on a weekly basis. This week though, because it is a landmark episode we have unearthed 5 bands that were mostly championed by us at WERS, college radio on the Niteklub show we hosted each Tuesday night.
